All true. Sadly, I still see far too many people doing normal things like using a public bathroom and not washing their hands before leaving. And worse, a large number seem to be the same group that is most likely to suffer severe consequences from Covid if they catch it. "I only touched myself" Forgetting that everything they touched before that, touched them, and everything after that got to be touched by their penis. o_O

It would be nice if we came through this with better attention to personal hygiene, especially as it relates to the awareness of passing contagion on to others of any sort, but I don't see this happening. We, (humanity), have a bad habit of ignoring the lessons we learn and quickly becoming complacent again.
Reminds of a military joke when a Marine and a Navy sailor were in the bathroom together. Upon noticing the Sailor had not washed his hands, the Marine piped up and said. "In the Marines were taught to always wash our hands! the sailor replied to the Marine, "that's nice but in the Navy we were taught not to pee on our hands!"

Fact. We destroyed the local economies in the North of England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Nothing replaced it. No investment. Left them to it. No support. Dont forget these places sent their men to die in wars for what ?. You should get out of your ivory tower and go have a look around. People who have nothing who live on benefits are more worthy than the 1% who own 25% of the UK. If they were offered decent jobs with a realistic wage do you really think they would stay on benefits ?. The contracts people get now if they are lucky are shite. Zero hours is slavery. The rest of Europe should have followed the French. Off with their heads. They are the real trash.
Opinion. Not fact.

You’re being selective with what you’re reading from my posts. I’ve fully recognised and am in support of those truly in need. I’m not living in no ivory tower, I come from and have lived working class my whole life.

If you think no one chooses to live on benefits then perhaps you need to step outside of the victim hood tower.

My point in today’s discussion has been, look at the whole picture, not just cherry pick the stuff that supports your political stance, but all of it. It’s not all one sided.

Not opinion its fact. The thing is the amount of people you are talking about is so insignificant when applied the the big picture. Its all too easy to look down on and blame these people. I suppose you agree with charging these very same people to go to university which for most of rhwm could be a way out.

It was just announced on the news here in DK, that a EU Covid19 passport will be available for those who have been vaccinated.
It's still uncertain exactly how and where you can use the passport, but it was mentioned, that a passport will be mandatory if you want to attend sport events, concerts and the like. Besides that it is expected that at some point the passport will be necessary if you want to get on an airliner within the EU.

Some politicians expressed concern, that a Covid19 passport would divide people into two groups - those that can resume normal life and those who will continue to be excluded from many things - and that this could pressure people into taking the vaccine, even if they are fundamentally against it.

Other politicians didn't have those concerns. They feel that people are free to do whatever they want regarding the vaccine, but that people have to understand that like every other decision, not wanting to receive the vaccine (that is free for all citizens in this country) will have consequences.

Fac, we clearly have different views on these issues. We aren’t going to resolve anything, nor probably agree on much on this subject. Political discussions and debates usually don’t end up anywhere good, and neither of us are likely to jump the fence to the other side. Let’s leave it be.

This is not how a "carrier" has traditionally been defined:. . . .
No argument. But, covid is not your traditional virus either. This country, and most of the world, has never dealt with something like this; aside from the Spanish flu. This thing will infect anything it touches. Remember when they initially said it wasn't airborne? Contact only? Yeah, we now know that was wrong. Whatever/whoever a person contracts the virus from is a "carrier". . . . or whatever you choose to call it. A rose by any other name. . . .

Your papers, please!!

I will not share my opinion regarding this so as to not turn things policitcal but I wll say that I see a very lucrative market for forged "covid passports".

I was researching the Spanish flu pandemic. Most think it ended due herd immunity being reached. Then I found information that said 500 million were infected, 1/3 of the planet’s population at the time. If both of those bits are true, then maybe we don’t need 95% immunity to get there as Fauci recently opined.

In the UK there’s a very interesting and fascinating documentary on Spanish Flu on SKY TV on demand. Did you know it actually got its name due to Spain not being part of WW1, it never actually originated there. If you can, have a watch, it’s really good.

People making the effort and those truly in need are not who I’m referring to. You know as well as I do that there’s a handout mentality among far too much of our population. These drain funds available to help those who truly need it.
The number of fraudulent claims is like 0.2% in the uk. It’s tiny but the right wing press have blown it out of all proportion to divert attention from the real criminals like Amazon and Google. And I know someone who exists on benefits. If you think that’s easy, try it. She regularly has no food or heating and we have to help her out. Benefits is not the easy option

The Spanish Flu had an advantage spreading wise due to the sheer amount of people moving around the world because of the war etc. It would have probably burned out much quicker if it happened before the war. Which is why it was so stupid to allow so much travel during this one . Big balls were needed by the people managing this crisis. Instead they ballsed it up. It appears to me these people were more interested in their image and branding than anything else.
