This was the Desert 100 ADV Class in Odessa, WA held every year. I made it 17 miles of a 50 miles loop in 2 1/2 hours. The winner of ADV class finished someplace near 3 hour mark. I Sprained my left thumb first mile or so into ride. Didn't break anything on bike or myself really. It was super rocky, rutted, deep soft flour-like silt, uphill sections with rock, step-ups. I got stuck once in a foot or more of sooty sand. Had to push the bike over to slide it out of the hole while on an incline on a hill. I stopped knowing if i went on any further with hand hurting, I would of broke something more, and I didn't want to do that. It was hard work for sure, I think my clutch is making some noise now, but will look at it sometime. How much to fix it Jaxon?? Only 7 of 16 ADV bikes finished for various reasons, mostly mechanical on Bmw's, KTm's.

What a fun weekend I just had.

Yeah I know, I have the kit at home to do under warranty. I didn't have time to do that when I had to mount Scorpian Rally Tires for this Desert 100 ADV Race. ok, so the ADV Race was 50 miles.

So, Jeff, here's the real question: are you going to do it next year?

Ha ha that's a great pic Jeff. Looks like you could just mow the competition down with your sheer mass...

DD the event was hardcore, but I am surely not! You can ride me under the table any day of the week with your dirt background. I did learn a lot doing what I did. I rode with extreme caution, yet wasn't afraid to try whatever obstacle came next.

I beg to differ. There is a difference between you and me when it comes to the Tenere.

Yep, there's the difference.

I do next to nothing that is difficult with my Tenere. I still view it as the most expensive bike I've ever owned and a bike I'll tour on, and I'm not willing to put it at much risk. That race you were in looks like a blast, and I'd would have loved to had my old KTM or CRF back to run it. But I doubt I would have put my S10 in there. Just from the damage alone that could have happened from other bikes hitting it and roosting it. That's not a hardcore attitude in my book. You, have a great willingness to throw your bike into that gaggle...that is hardcore to me. Not your speed or what position you finished in, it's your attitude. I'm impressed.

Attitude indeed!! Loved seeing that, Jeff. Would loved to have joined you were it closer.

That's the cool thing about the SuperTen - it can be whatever you want - a highly capable and comfortable touring bike farkled to the max or stripped to just performance and armor to reveal the "the world's largest dirt bike."

I am consistently surprised at just how well Fancy outperforms my (negative) assumptions. No sooner than I stick her nose a bit deeper into the "oh shit" terrain than I should ... she simply shrugs it off and works with my limited skillset to navigate her way out of trouble. Nonetheless... she carries her battle wounds proudly - she's never been washed, she has cracked and broken plastics all around, and her Rumbux bars need a visit to the powdercoater. She is the WLDB.

If Yammy ever made an exact 2/3 scale replica of the SuperTenere - I'd be in real trouble.

I was thinking about you as well when I saw this thread. I think there's a lot of similarity between you and Jeff.
