Just got home from work. Second time this season it snowed on me on the way home. I was riding very carefully and easy but i ran up behind a truck going 20 to 25 mph. As soon as i had a chance i rolled on by them. I then started wondering what they were thinking. Either that bumb a$$ has a death wish on the motorcycle or crap im a real scared chicken if a motorcycle is out running me.View attachment 117940
That's a sweet lookin old truck.

People really don't know how to drive in snow these days. Only going to get worse as they push for EV.

My new axle from them throwing grease. Rather get oem. . . .
My brand new Jeep did the same thing. Apparently, when the axle was pressed into the hub, it didn't seat straight and leaked. They said the axle was "bent" but it was leaking at the hub. And that was a Dana axle.

I have had that 86 Dodge since 89. It has been a rock solid dependable truck. I couldnt have asked for much more out of a truck. I got the red one new in 02. It has been nothing but a pain in my a$$ Since day one. I tell people all the time when they ask about it if you like to work on your truck that is the one for you! Haha

I guess I got lucky. My '04, which became my son's in December '12, has just had to have the "normal" stuff. It did have the pinion nut on the rear diff come loose and the drive shaft dragged on the ground. Never figured out the how/why on that one. Took it apart changed out the seals checked the lash and put it back together.

Yeah it's a shame they sold our country out. I want to pick up a classic pickup for chores in town one day. Got my hands full as it is.

Been several places today. Paying bills delivering hams and other Christmas foods. Checked on some people and had a good visit with family and friends. It was mid 20s when i left the house and it got up to about 34 i think. Rode about 75 miles getting things done. I recently worked on some of the switches on my bike and i will have to say i dont think this bike has ever ran this good! It always runs better in cold weather so i will wait till it is a lot warmer to make a claim the switches have it running better. I feel like they helped it! I also have a feeling all those hard starts where these bikes would flood are probably from switches in a lot of cases.

My 14 with 62k miles is bone stock and still has funny starting sometimes. I can't say I have ever noticed temperature having an effect on how it runs which has always been dependable other than once in a while the funky way of starting.

I have only had one time other than the last incident that my bike didn't start. I have never worried about starting and shutting it right back down. I would start it with out waiting for anything other than hearing the fuel pump stop. never had an issue but for the life of my bike at times it would have a very strange sound while cranking and sometimes would take a couple tries to get it started. Not often but always there. Of course the first time it didn't start I did a cold start and shut it right back off but the plugs had 90,000 miles on them. put new plugs in and all was good. this last time was the key switch and the kick stand switch was the issue. After cleaning the key switch good even with the bike cold it fires almost as soon as i touch the starter button. for the last couple of weeks it has been starting faster than it ever has. I am also thinking the kick stand and possibly the key switch was causing a bit of a stumble any time there was vibrations from the road. Since cleaning the switches and getting rid of the kick stand switch the usual places i have been noticing that it has not happened. It feels much better.
