Not out of control but the front has some bump steer when you are going at it and hit a oopsie daisy in the road. Not scary but, not ideal if that makes sense. I don't have kids lol. The stabalizer would be a fine tune.
I could see the factory balance being not ideal... do shops have the ability to road force balance motorcycle tires? I'm ignorant to bike shops. Only worked a major has been chopper shop that tanked thankfully. Cars and light trucks other then that.

I used to be able to brag on my local shop. Not anymore. New owners that don't even know what an FJR or Super Tenere are. And yes, they ARE a Yamaha shop. My FJR kid is trying balance beads for the first time. So far he's liking them. He thinks the bike feels more solid at speed. (and if you haven't ever ridden an FJR, they're stupid fast)

Think about doing beads myself.
I trust no shop. No person. Lame how much service has fallen off in 10-30 years.
He was so mad at the Yamaha shop, (they said it would be a week before they could mount the tire) he stopped at a local independent Harley shop. They said they couldn't work on his bike, but they had no problems mounting tires. He brought the wheel and tire in, and they even put his axle in the ultrasonic cleaner. They're the ones that suggested the beads.

+1 on Warm n Safe! I ride more in the fall/winter /spring than our brutal hot summers. Fortunately at my lower elevation in the Sierra's I only lose a few weeks (or less) a winter to snow.
I never realized that NZ had those type of mountains. Beautiful.

Just got home from work. Second time this season it snowed on me on the way home. I was riding very carefully and easy but i ran up behind a truck going 20 to 25 mph. As soon as i had a chance i rolled on by them. I then started wondering what they were thinking. Either that bumb a$$ has a death wish on the motorcycle or crap im a real scared chicken if a motorcycle is out running me.
