This morning I went for a scenery ride with the S10 through our provence, no plan or route just go where I like. Was about 3 hours of happy riding and seeing things. In the afternoon I decided it was time to work on my relationships with Suzi and do what she likes most. We went riding on the “zeedijk” (dike). That’s what keeps us dry in the Netherlands. The dike itself is fun because it has about an 45ish degree angle, and there are several dirt deposits piled up for if needed in emergency. A lot of fun with that 800cc 1 cil.

She likes being on top;)

Went to the reservoir's near Ponterwyd Wales today, awsome scenery and took some fire roads in the mix also, little slippy as the rain had been heavy.
Took my little stove and had a bit of lunch by the side of the bike whilst looking out over hills ... perfect and then took some nice narrow single track back down to Borth ... flipping love Wales.

Trip to Öland (Sweden's second biggest island) and the SE coast.
The whole island is a UNESCO World Heritage site packed with scenic places.
We hit a few other places as well during our four day trip.

Deserted house next to one of the many gravel roads we "accidentally" selected.

We stayed in Kalmar next to the bridge over to the island.
A cool medieval city with parts of the old city wall nicely integrated into the current architecture.

Southern tip of Öland with the light house Långe Jan (Tall Jan).

A few of the hundreds of wind mills (old style ;))

Northern tip of Öland with the light house Långe Erik (Tall Erik).

Old stone walls surrounding the farm fields.

Final night in Karlskrona. Not a bad view from the beer garden at the hotel!

Four days w/o rain in Sweden and the new tires I mounted and balanced myself (a first for me) held air all the way. Success!

Been a while. Back in the flatlands of Illinois. Been busy doing yard work and Grandfathering. Finally got out to the Rock River Valley. Lots of freshly groomed gravel (not a good thing). Good practice for staying loose on the grip.

More of a track at this favorite stretch.

Even though this is a named road, it's more of a farm access. Weeds tall enough to make it difficult to see the ruts. Found one, but kept it upright.

Statue of Blackhawk across the Rock River, Lowden State Park. Just restored in the last year.

It is spectacular mate isn't it!
You might know better than me but some of the fire roads had the gates padlocked and some were just open ... I was scoping out some quiet spots for a wild camp and there was a nice little area up one of the open fire roads and would allow me to keep the bike near me. However, I would be nervous of getting up next morning only to find myslef locked in :rolleyes::cool: ... do you know if they lock them often or are they often unlocked for long periods?
There are other spots but they mean my hiking out a bit and leaving the bike and don't fancy that ... don't mind leaving my car but not my baby!

I’ve recently fitted a Cool Cover to my bike, as I too find the seat not ideal. I’ve not ridden it yet since being fitted, however I’m off to Scotland at the weekend, so will have plenty of hours in the saddle. Will report my thoughts on the CC when back.
Had a few long days in the saddle recently, the cool cover is definitely an improvement over the standard seat set up. Numb bum usually sets in after about an hour and I’m stood on the pegs or shuffling about on the seat, not so anymore, couple of hours or so and all is still ok, by which time I’m ready to stop for fuel or a drink.
