pounding the snot out of myself on the trails on my wr 450. 3-4 inches of snow on trails in the higher hills today, led to some interesting moments.

As long as I can ride while doing it. It actually turned out nice this afternoon. I'm hoping to ride to Skagway on Sunday. Supposed to be nice, but the lying weather vermin don't really have a clue. We'll see. R

I'm going to try for a short ride one day this coming week and try out my new rear tire. We have a break in the rain and it was REAL nice yesterday. Today I'm going to be at a car show, so no riding for me.

I don't want to hear about it, Rod. I rolled in from Dawson about an hour ago. Somewhere between Stewart's Crossing and Pelly, we hit a blizzard. A full blown, kick @$$ blizzard. Temperature dropped to 34 °F for about a half hour. Snowing like crazy. The road shoulders were white. Nothing to do but KBO (keep buggering on). Finally broke out of it. Last leg from Carmacks it damn near hit 60 degrees. I'm beat, too. Tard ol' sumbich.

On the way back from Erie friday evening, as i crested the hill on I80 at Dubois, there just at the next rise was billowing black smoke, what looked to be 50 foot high flames, and a sea of taillights. I managed to get off the exit before the wall of trucks showed up. Took me over an hour to detour around on back roads and find my way back. I know how you feel. I can't get there, I can't get home. The fun never ends...................the good part about it was the guy in front of me and I had the road to ourselves. I never did find out what happened. For all I know, the road construction guys blew up their paving equipment. Or some zipperhead in a CRV cut off an 18 wheeler. We are infested with zipperheads.... I finally got home at 9:30 PM. I had almost another hour of on-line job reports to complete, and then I was done for the week. Like I said, the fun never ends.

When the seasons change here in Yukon it is like someone flipping a light switch. The end of May goes from freezing night time temps and cool days to shorts and tee shirts and 70+ temps almost over night.

Winter comes in the same way.
