Someone in the states needs to get a Big Super Tenere soon. Everyone is running out of things to post about as evidence of this post. :'(

You can only talk about a bike so long before riding it and I for one am ready. I rode the FJR about 250 miles this weekend again. I did the same last weekend but am ready for the Big XT. :)

The thrill's not gone but has slowed down a bunch on this forum. :'(

Somebody talk trash to someone or something and get this thing going again.

OK I will go first.

Venture, your Mom wears Army boots on Mothers day :))

There's only one thing I ask of my kids when the wife and i get old....that is to not dress us up funny and then takes out into public ;D

This came up once when my SO and I went out for lunch and a little old lady had neon colored socks and a yellow polka dot dress on. I don't think think it even phased her, but we had quite the laugh about it. :D

Combo, I hope your kids dress you up funny ;)

Not exactly trash, but how about this idea?

I like the photoshop of the Raven with silver side panels posted in another thread. So, I am thinking of ordering silver side panels for my Raven and then also ordering the blue tank and fairing pieces. Do you think I should also order a blue fender or just leave it Raven?

I like the silver side panels on the Raven. Not sure about the front fender. How about Megenta and the rest blue? :))

Looks like this has turned into a "catch-all" thread!! Side panels and how funny we dress and even how we fart!

:D

Me, I just rolled into Lamar CO on my way back from Camp Wood TX. 12 hours in the saddle, a little under 700 miles and temps from 68 to 100. I'm beat!

Another 250some miles tomorrow to home and it looks like my rear tire is going to make it all the way in!!! :)

Ahhhhh, Combo. The weather has just been so darn nice I've been getting out every moment I can for something-or-other. I just finished up grad school on Thursday, I graduate this coming Saturday. I'm going to walk, I want the little ones to see a graduation and hopefully aspire to be as smart as their dear-ol-dad (smarter, I hope).

Now that the school work is finally over I have some ideas for the forum that I will have time to get to. Hopefully some of it will keep things interesting.

We definitely need the bikes to start arriving soon though. Who knows, maybe the first arrival will revive us all, maybe even surprise us.

I don't want to hear about it, Rod. I rolled in from Dawson about an hour ago. Somewhere between Stewart's Crossing and Pelly, we hit a blizzard. A full blown, kick @$$ blizzard. Temperature dropped to 34 °F for about a half hour. Snowing like crazy. The road shoulders were white. Nothing to do but KBO (keep buggering on). Finally broke out of it. Last leg from Carmacks it damn near hit 60 degrees. I'm beat, too. Tard ol' sumbich.

Glad you've had a safe trip.

I'm going to bed. I'm too old for this stuff. night night. R

Glad you made it in okay Rem! i'm getting too old for this HEAT! I can usually cover 700 miles without too much trouble, but the heat just takes it out of me.

I can dig it. It hit 86 degrees here one day last summer, and damn near kilt me. I think I can handle the cold better than the heat. Let's just agree to do away with both. I'll meet you somewhere in Wyoming. R

I have an old friend and high school classmate (remember high school?) in Torrington, Wyoming. She has invited me down several times. I'd love to head down through B. C., Idaho, over to Wyoming, etc. I could be talked into it pretty easily. R

My sis-in-law lives in Gillette, so I can easily make it up that way as well. Maybe we need to set up a SuperT meet in Cody WY or up in Red Lodge MT and then we can ride the Big horns, etc!

Re: meet .... I'm your dog. Sounds good to me. ;D

Okay, here's my last kick at the cat before I power out. Just as we rode into Dawson yesterday afternoon, the sirens go off. I mean, we were one block from the hotel. Say what ??? The YUKON RIVER ICE went out at 4:26 pm, Saturday, May 7. Here are some pics about 10 minutes after it went out. When it goes, it goes instantly. One second the ice is stationary, and the next second it's moving down the river. Here you go. Enjoy. Not many folks get a chance to see this. R

Very cool, thanks for the ice shots Rem. If I want to see ice I have to go into the freezer and hope that I made some.

Wow, I was happy that I had an hour to get the FZ1 out yesterday before yard work ate up the rest of the day! Hey Rem, keep the snow eh? A buddy and I got caught in a late spring snow storm as we left Edmonton a few years ago on the way to Hyder, AK. It was coming down hard enough that you could only see a couple hundred yards max and the beam was basically non-existent. Only thing to do was keep going and hope you don't get run over by a 4-wheeler!

Yeah, I agree M. C. It's not too exciting most of the time. The ICE OUT thing is kind of neat. A tradition every since Dawson City first came about during the 1897 Klondike gold rush. They put a big wooden tripod out on the ice, with a cable attached to a siren. (They used to use a clock). When the ice goes out, the tripod starts to move and the cable trips the siren (stops the clock). Whoever has guessed the closest date and time, wins the pot. It was just sort of weird that the ice went out exactly when we pulled into town. I felt like the ultimate icebreaker. R

:p to all of you out riding. I've been spending more time in an airplane seat than the saddle of my FJR. I did the oil change a couple of weekends ago, and I've done all of 4000 miles in a year!
