I sat on it in the garage and drank some coffee, while I day dreamed about being in the mountains riding. Then I went back upstairs and continued writing and doing research on my paper ::010::

Heading to the N. Ga/S.E. Tenn area in October - just can't wait to get this bike in some real curves!

Any errors in spelling or syntax are because I posted this from a telephone - cut me some frikin' slack.

Mounted new rear TKC. Replaced missing adjustment bolt in my Touratech Windscreen bracket. Started to remove the rear shock when my buddy arrived.
Then I played in the canyons for 3 hours on my SuperDuke. Just enough to work out the kinks.
I don't what happened to my chicken strips. They must have gotten lost somewhere around Corbett.

Today I remembered the best way to wash a motorcycle. Ride it in the rain.
You got caught in that, huh? I took mine down to the office in Tempe (I picked up a van and some gear as I'm driving out to LA for work for a few days), and even though the clouds were ominous, I didn't see a single drop.

I actually went out into it at the tail end of the storm, well after the heavy stuff. I seriously had to get a lot of the Utah red clay coloring off the side of the tires and some other build up off the bottom so I figured riding in the rain and puddles would do it. It worked (somewhat) but was a blast.

This weekend I got the auxiliary brake light hooked up, mounted my top box to the Altrider rack and blacked a few bits. I also got to ride it ::012:: First pleasure ride in 2 months (it's been all commuting miles for the past while).

Had a little run in with John Law

"I clocked you at 75, you realize this is a 45mph zone?"

Yes sir

"I know these bikes are made to go fast and stop quicker, but you need to slow it down, I've been chasing you for about 20 minutes"

Yes sir

He let me go with a warning, and I shook his hand and thanked him....I knew I was going quick, but didn't realize I was that much over the speed limit...

You got lucky.

My one (and only ticket, ever) was for 9mph over on Hwy 285 between Saguache & Villa Grove a few years ago :-[ . The state trooper said since it was a holiday weekend (memorial day - heading for Graduation at the Air Force Academy) he 'had' to ticket me. And he was sorry that it was 'double' due to the holiday. $60. In CA, that ticket would be $400...just ask my wife how I know! :D

I'm surprised he let you off.. Around here, that is not a warning speed. 30 over is gonna cost.. lol

Trust me I understand how lucky I was

And I was VERY surprised he let me go, especially when he told me how long it took him to catch up to me

Today I added a trailtech switch for guage changes, a switch to manualy turn on fan before it gets to 219 degrees, new rear brake pads, changed the clutch fluid, changed oil and filter and took off the K60's and installed set of Dunlop TR91's. Now it's ready to ride to AMA Vintage days in Ohio this week. :)

Be sure and check the thread on the fender extenda hitting some bash plates, we cut 1-1/2" off of it to clear.
