skid plate back on with arrow headers, was worried if it would go back on but loads of room
Those headers look good,…harmonious. I like them better than the first models that came with those springs, which in that place, did not make sense or did not fulfill any function

Briefly….we rode from St Louis to Ft. Collins and rode Hwy 14 that runs along the Cache la Poudre river.
The next day saw ride into Wyoming while riding another great road……Hwy 70 from Encampment to Baggs and on to Pinedale, WY.
The fourth day was a ride to Hamilton, MT for next day ride of Lolo Pass and follow the Lochsa River.
Next on the list was to ride Hwy 20 through the Northern Cascades and a stay north of Seattle.
We headed south on Interstate 5 enroute to visit the McMinnville Air Museum in Oregon to view the Spruce Goose before riding to Medford, OR for the night .
The next stop was a visit and ride around Crater Lake National Park…….cold and rainy all day. We spent the night in Eureka, CA after riding CA Hwy 96 enroute and saw lots of fire devastation for miles on end due to the forest fires. We rode CA Hwy 36 east (fabulous road) heading back east and lodged in Reno, NV. The next days ride was on US 50…..the so called loneliest road in the USA across Nevada Into Utah and spent the night in Fillmore, Utah.
Colorado was the next state heading home and we rode I70 to Grand Junction and onto CO Hwy 92 that runs north of US 50 and the Blue Mesa reservoir and back on US 50 east to Salida, CO for the night.
The next two days were riding two lanes to KC, MO and I70 back home.

Then, I cleaned the bike!
Wonderful! Thank you! I've yet to ride in Utah or the Northern Tier states. Maybe in a couple years. Be safe.

Fitted this rear hugger I got from eBay today. Not sure if I’ll keep the pinstripes I put on though. Simple to fit once you figure out the brackets, there were no instructions at all. Color and style match OEM perfectly.

For those concerned about mud packing, there’s at least as much or more clearance to the tire than the standard front fender, so I figure I’m no worse off. I don’t intend to ride this big girl in the mud anyway.

Installed Dynamics long rack with passenger backrest. It was expensive but so far seems well made. Instructions were great even though it’s pretty simple. Wife wanted some type of backrest. Always feared the top box would be the cause for a back injury in a rear end collision. The kit came with blue lock tight but given the black coated hardware I choose not use it. Fits the Lone Rider tail bag perfect.

Installed Hepco Becker hand guards. Pretty beefy, leaving stock handguards in place. A little miffed that given the price they wouldn't include bolts for standard risers. Required a separate trip to the hardware store and another $10. Could only find hex heads long enough. (Instead of provided counter sink allen heads and counter sink washers.) Hoping they will reduce some handle bar shake in addition better protection.

Interesting that the guard follows the lines on the handguard as well as it does.
Designed specifically for the S10. I did have to raise the clutch side hand guard to line it up.

What??!! I'm trying not to crack the mirrors!

I rode about 300 mi with them today. As I hoped, they did stiffen the handlebars and cut down on shaking at internet speeds.

I hope to keep mine as pristine as yours but I doubt that will happen.

Not the mirrors on the bike, I meant on coming fools, they do stabilise the bars well and remove any small vibes from knobly tyres

Hey I can't believe it. that seal isn't leaking. It has only been a little over a 100 miles though. The edge of the seal seemed very thin to me. I will probably change it at the next tire change. I have a new rotor and brake pads going on at the same time.

Chainged the oil today. The new yamaha oil filter wont fit behind the sw motech skid plate. It had some nasty dents in it again so i just hammered out a nice arch to go around the longer filter. I have smashed the short filter before. This isnt really a good change for me. I also washed it finally! I had 45 pounds of south dakota grass hoppers all over the bike. South Dakotians are great company and i have enjoyed the ride with them but it was time to part ways. 20221012_130830.jpg20221012_162831.jpg
