I rode my RED 2015 to the summit of MT. Evans, Colorado today which is the highest paved road in North America. I have tried to ride to the top numerous times over a 20 year time span with negative results due to the fact that the road is open only from sometime in June each year, yet closes after a Labor Day every year. One more ride off the bucket list.
If you didn't get a sicker, it didn't happen. ;D

Hi Dennis.

Mine are craftsman (lots of people don't like the current quality of their tools but mine are pretty old) but probably any reputable brand will be fine.

FYI - whenever you are finished using them remember to back the setting back out past zero to detention the spring otherwise they eventually get out of calibration.

Installed my ECU that I had Anthony re-flash for me and went for a ride.

Wow! This should have been the first mod I did. So much smoother, easier to control in low rpms, more linear throttle response, no more stupid engine braking at 2,000 rpms and holy power when you crack the throttle! ::26::

That is what I am talking about! This what the bike should have been all along.

If you are on the fence about having your ECU flashed, stop hesitating and do it! I highly recommend Anthony, send an email to member AVC8130 to contact him.

Finally installed my catless oem exhaust. Easier job than I thought! Add Uni filters.. I had Alt rider crash bar from my Gen 1 that I put on my Gen 2 and clearance was tight with the Gen 2 exhaust on the rear alt rider cross bar. Gave the cross bar a couple of good whacks with the BFH and plenty of clearance and fits perfect!
Lube shifter lever linkage. Used marine grade grease. Looks like Moly paste was oem lube?
Had an issue which will is in another thread with an attempted throttle body sync......

I want to get out and test ride sooooo bad! But waiting for rush hour traffic to be done!

No, it's a Ravetech skid plate. Mounts to the frame, not the sump. I really like it.

Went their website. Says that the are no longer in stock. I don't know if that means they have stopped production or what. Too bad.

I replied to another thread about this. Recommend contacting them directly. I've seen this item go in and out of stock before, so you may have caught him between runs?

Went into the garage, moved it away from the wall a further 6", to fit more collapsed boxes from our move last weekend, now close to Basel, in the hills, massive community of 940 residents, I swear I can hear banjos, but my wife says that's just the choir.......

I don't know why, but for some reason I find it funny to picture banjo music coming from the hills of Switzerland.... ??? ;D I guess it does not fit with the stereotype in my head.

May I ask, with respect sir, what is the thinking here?

I see the skid plate, and the upper Givi protections.

The cycle seems to me to be set up for "mostly asphalt" use.

I understand the upper protections, so to help with avoiding damage from asphalt tip-overs.

But, why the skidplate?

Fitted a GPR Furore Nero silencer to the bike today I was very surprised at the weight difference between the OEM and after market silencer almost 9lbs. As for the fit and finish I'm very happy and with both DB baffles in place I am very happy with the sound not too loud or obnoxious but has a much deeper growl than the original part. Bike seems to like it as it is running very smoothly and is nice a responsive on the throttle.

All these bikes are 'mostly asphalt' vehicles. You do a thousand mile weekend to ride twenty miles of great forest roads. Some have done thousands of miles to do a couple hundred miles of dirt. I know at least a couple have done hundreds of miles of dirt linked by a few miles of pavement. You need the protection from the worst case scenario stuff, not the easy stuff.
Turns out the bottom of this motor is surprisingly sensitive to impact. Some aluminum plates actually mount to a stud molded into the oil sump plate so any impact that you would hope to be protected from actually gets transferred right where you don't want. Enter the frame mounted bash plate. And like the cruiser crowd has known for a century, if it looks good, ya gots to have it. ::008::

Isn't it obvious? One cannot be out done by the GS owners at the local Starbucks. How's that for a smart ass answer to a smart ass question

Thanks, Don, that was very helpful. Now I have a better appreciation of the protection needs.

From Mr. Bertrand, not so much. Seems I cannot show him respect to save my life.
