Seems to work nicely, my wolfman tool bag fits perfectly inside it.
Where did you go wrong with the gasket? What did you do / would do differently to keep that from happening again?Bryce said:Tore mine back down to the valve cover... found it it was leaking on a ride to meet with some others to ride today and had to bail out, go back in and get the gasket on right this time. all good now, and I can pull it fown to do a valve check pretty quick now!!
one of the round parts over the cam ends on the right side was evidently not in place. you really can't see it and have to have faith that it's in place by feeling it.mebgardner said:Where did you go wrong with the gasket? What did you do / would do differently to keep that from happening again?
Thanks!

It misses it by a half an inch or so. That would have to be at full compression.Don in Lodi said:How close does the caliper get to that box when things compress?
The Altrider rear rack has the holes for the Givi mount kit. Then you can use the rack as a raised or flat rack later.Crew Chief said:It was yesterday, but I did the first thing ever for mine and I wrote a check for it. I bought a 2014 gen 2 non es with just over 2000 miles on it. I'll pick it up later in the week. The first order of business is to get a Givi top case mount ordered for it so my bride will have a back rest. I looked around a little today, but there has been a lot going on. I'm looking forward to my first modern bike.
Lesson learned: Be careful mounting to the OEM rack. The top carrier will not sustain much abuse. You need to mount directly to the lower rack (which is designed for the OEM top box).Crew Chief said:Both of these last two posts were educational for me. For the short term, I just got a universal mount, but I'll be lookin into these other options as a more permanent solution. Thanks.
Had to drill the front two for the AltRider adapters. For the rear wedge I used the center strap hole with a hand fashioned aluminum filler and aluminum bottom plate. I could have reused my old plastic Givi base on it, but wanted to minimize the weight and keep it as low as possible. I wanted the cubby for the tool kit, which I've been carrying inside the Givi. Unfortunately, the cubby isn't big enough for the pump I have. While they call it a 3" riser, the space is 2-5/8"x 9.5" x 11". Still working on a water resistant tool roll/bag.Crew Chief said:Well, I picked up the bike and mounted the case today. I got a decent deal on this bike, really good actually, but I never have been and I guess I never will be a fan of vehicle dealers. Today didn't change that.
The previous owner had removed the lower spacer for the luggage rack, but I had to put it back on to get enough clearance for the case over the grab rails. This will not be a permanent solution and will serve only to keep my wife comfortable by providing her a back rest till I can decide on the next step. Both the Alt rider and the Givi metal mounts look nice to me, but the HT looks like I could move the top plate back an inch or two pretty easily, and I think I may want to do that. The back rest on the top case encroaches on her space just a little the way it is now. Holligl, It doesn't look like the HT has holes for the Givi mount. Did you have to locate your own holes? Do you have a plan for that cubby hole?
