Checked spark plugs and for the first time since owning this bike wished I had a Boxer.
They looked ok and gaps were in spec after 12k so I put them back in.

Have you balanced your throttle bodies yet? You can actually see a burn difference between those two sets of plugs.

As Don said... one cylinder is running cleaner than the other. Maybe too clean.

Well, it was yesterday but I changed the oil, filter and final gear oil. Going to ride her hard tomorrow and bring her up to 12k miles and try and get the cobwebs the rest of the way out. Then time for some real maintenance love. I was in a terrifying car accident two summers ago that bent my crew cab Silverado in 1/2 when I got rear ended. It took a while (mentally) to get back on a bike, I would have been killed on an m/c but had decided not to ride that morning due to massive afternoon rainstorm patterns and was tired of the rain ... too much time standing on the bike in traffic in 4 inches of water ... so next up will be plugs, coolant, TB's (you guys will love that post, I promise!) etc etc etc.

Taking a trip and 6500 on the oem BW. Probably would be bald by the time I return so put a 705 on the rear. Yamaha was definitely stingy with the axle grease. First rear wheel install and thanks to the tips found here it was easy.

Had one headlight bulb burnt out. Bought two headlight bulbs and installed them. The remaining headlight bulb will be a spare.

Will test them tonight after the Summer Solstice Sunset.

Did the set mod - high position. Took longer to order the parts than it did to do the mod. Feels pretty good time will tell after a long ride how much improvement there is.

Certainly helps to remove the bracket before you drill it. At first I. Though zI made hole too big but its perfect - would never get grommet on or off that piece of metal (aluminum I think) without a big enough hole.

Pictures or it didnt happen right?

There is still a small bit of up and down wobble on the back of the seat - just a tad more than before the mod. When seated It touches the smaller rubber spacers and all is good.

If I like it this way I will take one of the original rubber spacers and trim it down so it takes up that little bit of slack in the drilled out portion of the bracket on the bike near the rear of the seat (picture from post above) - but not so much to make it difficutl to re-install seat when taken off.

I hope that made sense......

Added a drivers backrest and repainted my crash bar after a weekend face plant.
Maybe it's just me... I'm not sure I'd be adding a back rest when doing face plants. Seems like it may be harder to get off and add the weight of the bike to your face!

Face plant was off road, i don't plan on using the back rest off road for the obvious reason you stated, I will just be using it on long pavement rides.

Today i had the dealer install extended clutch and brake cables i got from Jaxon. Great product and makes a big difference in adjustability when using rox riser's. Happy camper.

I can tell you to not bother with the cut-off SAE wiring. It will melt / burn before starting the cycle.
I agree on the SAE wiring. This is what I used so my jump pack can connect direct to battery. I did it mainly to eliminate need to carry the bulky jumper clamps that attach to jump pack.

Last night I installed a speedohealer alongside my Gear Indicator. Just such worry free equipment. Installed very seamless, not a whole bunch of room to solder in there but I got her done in about 20 minutes. If you ever find yourself installing one of these, the instructions can be very daunting but its not that hard. Programming was super super simple. Now when I ride around my speedo is 100% spot on with what waze is showing me.

Absolutely love it.

Did you check your odometer accuracy after installing it?

Actually i did not. I just assumed that with the correct speed will translate the correct distance. No? Is there anything I should know about this?
