Hooked up the Harmonizer and found the left air screw seized in place. Appears to be screwed in completely (work done by Yammie tech) and difficult to get any WD up in there. I ended up shearing the slot and now it's stuck. EasyOut? Dremel a slot? Tap, tap, tap it out? Oh well, I balanced the right side and cured a hiccup I felt rolling off the throttle. Needs a flash.

And I put some Fastway Air footpegs on. Plug and play, great grip and I didn't notice any vibes on a 20 minute highway run. The shifter had to be adjusted up one spline to accommodate bigger boots and shifting while standing. Bit of a reach for downshifting but not too bad.

Usually you shorten the rod to raise the pedal. Changing the angle of the arm on the shift shaft changes the dynamics of the leverage, not a bunch really, but measurable.

It worked fine for a dry run and no issues during a ride. My problem is the peg eating the bottom of my AStars!

Two days in a row adjusting headlights. Finally got them dialed in. Lowered significantly and spread them out.

Some things are better done when off the bike, and this probably is one of them. It'd be oh-so-easy to end up buying a very expensive new injection unit.

Very good advice. It's running good and I don't plan to mess with it until I check the valves in 5-so thousand miles. The kit is under 10 bucks so carefully extracting it and not causing several hundreds of dollars in damage is my plan.

Someone could have used locktite in the past on your set screw. Try a little heat on it ( heat gun or small torch ) it breaks the bond of the locktite.
Don't think so. I didn't see any red or blue leftover and this shop did a great job on the engine rebuild. I'll try the heat thing once I get it off the bike and make a slot for an easy out.

Hello, have been playing a little with the ST. Have popped up the front end up a couple of times. Last night brought her up to the balance point and left off a little then kept her back up for a pretty good distance until old age and spidey senses started tingling lol. Man what a rush. Better quit with that as I believe law enforcement would not approve.

Pulled the rear wheel for the first time and had a 705 mounted. A little fussier than the FZ1 but not too bad. Scrub in the tire a little tomorrow.

Just got back from Ouray!!
Got caught in a sleet storm on 550 between Molas lake and Silverton on top of the state freshly chip sealing with 20 minute delays for about 5 miles south of Molas lake to the road wrecking crew rebuilding the road into Silverton. Other than that it was hot and had a good time.
Saw a big male Blackie run across the road a little past Crystal lake and Ironton heading south this morning.

Got new tires put on. Bridgestone trail wings. Only tires I could find on short notice on the lovely island of Oahu. Picked up yet another nail. Been living here 3 months and have purchased 3 tires so far.
Also change the oil

You're not replacing tires for a simple nail in the tread, are you?

No, the tire only had about 1k of life left in it so it wasn't worth saving to me. The trail wings aren't the exact tire I wanted but they should be fine. They fit my commuter / occasional gravel road riding well enough.

Replaced a marker light bulb for the third time, one more left in my stash. Such a little thing should be easier but only takes about 30 minutes. Four 5mm hex bolts on the headlight shroud, four 10mm bolts on the headlight housing. Pull the headlight housing out enough to reach the marker bulb holder, 1/4 turn to pull that out, stick in new bulb, and put it all back.

Other than that, 2 oil / lube services in the last month, one before the 16-day, 3800-mile 2-up trip up and around the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, and one after. 60,000 miles now and zero reliability issues. ::022::

I found my ACD skidplate has spent some time marking the pavement.

Never felt it when it happened. I do remember Fred giving a warning about this. After I get back from the next big ride I'll probably take the same Fred took and switch to something less threatening.

Mounted up some sticky, streety goodness... Pirelli Scorpion Trail II. So far, I'm loving the quiet and smooth ride and having no problems getting it leaned over. I have a trip scheduled for some elevation therapy and will know more about how they handle when I return.

It will touch down if you ride aggressively. I required a diaper change after this touchdown.

I had they same thing but my right side screw was seized. I spend an afternoon drilling and digging out the screw head. There was a time I thought this is looking very expensive but I kept going until I could see some clean thread. Then I could see the light at the end of the tunnel. I ended up removing the entire head of the set screw in tiny little pieces with a fine screwdriver chiseling them out.
I did break a small part out the casing but not enough to cause a problem. I could feel the spring moving once the threads were clear . I pulled the spring out and thankfully the seat was untouched and I had enough thread to fit new screw set with seal.

All this was done with the throttle bodies on the bench. I'm very pleased to say all is working well. Though I still cant get them to balance properly. But at least both screws are adjustable if needed.
