Finished a floor dolly. While I really like the looks of the Park-N-Ride floor dolly, I couldn't get past the price at $200-250 shipped. I am space limited to a 2 car garage (with two cars) and a 12'x12' backyard shed. The S10 will typically stay in the shed, but getting it out requires a 180* turn in the yard. When the ground is soft, this becomes a problem. Almost got stuck in a January warm streak.
Found a more economical solution in a Harbor freight wheel dolly, stripped down and modified. Ideally, a steel channel would work better, but I had an old pair of roof racks I "re-puposed". I got the dolly with a 20% off the $90 list price and about $30 of misc hardware. It is a bit bigger than the Park-n-ride, but the bigger wheels actually roll well over some sizable concrete joins. It does not have locks on the wheels, but I don't need them in my situation. Its not pretty but it is functional. You could do much better if you have ready access to better materials and a welder.
