Oil and final gear oil change, and then I superficially washed my bike for the first time since purchasing it in 2014.

I wasn't able to look at my bike in the eyes... I'm too ashamed of my neglect. I've focused all of my motorcycle attention on his little brother, my pet project xr650l which I've been repairing and trail riding.

Sorry beast.. I'll get you some new rubber and we'll go out again! I promise!

::026:: Too funny. I did the same thing this weekend. Technically it had gone through nature's car wash before, but this time it was more formal and I used soap!

Hello all, today after a good ride with the miles at 530 I changed my oil with a Mahle filter and Motul V300 and Motul gear oil also. Checked exhaust, spokes, tires and wheels. Think that's it. Forgot, did the seat bumpers last night, no more sliding forward. Great fix for ten bucks.
Ride was nice but had some rain, try to avoid it but oh well.

Figured I'd change my plugs as I'm waiting for a new rear rim to be spoked, all went well put the bike back together started to clean up and found i still had one new plug. So ripped back into it and took all the plugs back and yes I put one of the old ones back in. Sucks getting old.

Like them that much? I am still considering those tires next but I am reading some pretty mixed reviews. What do you have to say about them?
I spend most of my time on tarmac with the occasional hard packed gravel road,
I am way too old for actual trail riding... so good on the blacktop and exceptional in the rain,
are my biggest priorities... I ran about 6 sets of the Michelin Anakee [which is a very good tire in the wet]
before the Avon Trailrider was introduced, all the reviews I have read have been really positive
and I have had good experience with Avon on my previous rides... so here we are today...
I like the on road feel of the Avon Trailrider, am not afraid of the dirt and I have confidence in the rain.....

:D I did something similar working on the wifey's minivan years ago. Transversely mounted V6 engine made reaching the plugs at the back a by feel only exercise. Totally blind. I'd replaced 5 and was having a bitch of time trying to get the 6th one out. I FINALLY got purchase on the plug after what seemed like a long time struggling. I triumphantly whipped out the plug only to discover I removed brand new one I'd just put into cylinder #5 instead

Learned some swear words I didn't even know I knew...

Pulled the fuel tank, removed the fuel pump, tweaked the float arm down a tad so reserve will be smaller, (was 1.4 Gal, would prefer a little under a gallon), removed the fuel cap assembly....

Then installed all of it on the SuperTank. Poured a measured 2 gallons in, fired the bike up and rode to the gas station a couple miles from the house and filled the SuperTank. 8.2 Gal capacity. Was hoping for a bit more, but that will do. Checked for leaks. None. Flogged bike a bit and went home. Re-checked for leaks. None. ::014::

Fabbed a new bracket to raise my GPS mount just a bit so I can see my turn signals on the '15. The Gen I bikes have them on the sides of the instrument cluster. The Gen II bikes have them on top and the GPS blocked them from my view. No problem with the new bracket extension. I just need a couple of 4mm nyloc nuts from the hardware store tomorrow and to extend a couple of wires and that will be sorted.

Installed my Gen I trim cover on the nose of my Gen II bike since the Gen II cover interferred with both the side wings and the SW Motech anti vibe GPS mount.

Tankbag does not interfere with view of my gauges. ::008:: Crappy pic with too much clutter in the background.

Trying to decide on Turboliner or LineX premium for the tank.
