Did you come across the discussion where we talked about changes made by some manufacturers that fixed it so their filters that fit previously, no longer do. 'Convex and concave' were brought up several times.ejr10mm said:Changed the oil, hopefully this filter doesnt leak. Bolted on the new skid plate and attached a yamaha oem top case I bought from a member here. It was a great day. Hopefully my yoshi rs4 comes in tomorrow at a decent hour so I can put it on before work.
gregp said:Just got back from Texas. I took the bike to see Jaxon at Ride On ADV. Last month I contacted him about adding some performance to the bike. We decided to flash the ECU, add an Arrow header, a power commander V with autotune and Jaxon's custom map. He installed a high performance Barnett clutch plate and also suggested a modification to the air box which he invented and added Uni high performance filters. On top of that, he synced the throttle bodies, adjusted the suspension, added Rox risers and extension cables for the clutch and brake. Basically he reinvented the bike for me.
The results? Absolutely fantastic! The bike revs faster, pulls harder, runs smoother... it's just better in every way. The risers allow me to stand comfortably without any bending at the knees or waist. Perfect!
Before I left, Jaxon went over the work thoroughly with me explaining everything done in detail. He also pointed out some things to keep an eye on that I wouldn't have otherwise known. I am impressed.
I cannot highly recommend Jaxon's work enough! If you have any questions about the modifications or Ride On ADV in general, I'd be happy to answer them to the best of my ability. Or just call Jaxon and let the man himself answer them for you.

LOL, exactly what I thought! Installed Alrider crash bars and ACD skid plate and was all happy. I wish I knew half of what this guy know, that would be awesome ::008::ejr10mm said:Hmm I was all proud that I put on my yoshi rs4 today...then I saw the above post....
Looks like your handle bar clamps are on backward. The edges are offset. Longer edge one goes on front and slightly tightened then the rear bolt tightened. If done like you have, the bolt head is sitting on an edge. Not good to do.gregp said:

I just took a look and I honestly don't see what you are saying. Are you speaking of the top clamp? Sorry the pic is upside downace50 said:Looks like your handle bar clamps are on backward. The stock top clamp.gregp said:I just took a look and I honestly don't see what you are saying. Are you speaking of the top clamp? Sorry the pic is upside down
maybe the clamps differ between gen 1 bikes and gen 2 bikes because my stock top clamps are completely symmetrical. There's no long and short side to them. They are equal front to back. Unless I misunderstand you.ace50 said:The stock top clamp.
I've never had a bike where the top clamp was even. Honda's are even marked with a dot to show you they go to the front.gregp said:I just took a look and I honestly don't see what you are saying. Are you speaking of the top clamp? Sorry the pic is upside down
I get what you're saying now. The honest truth is that you're seeing some perspective and some iPhone lens distortion. The gaps are actually perfectly straight and are of even distance front and back. As far as the top clamps, they appear at least to me to be identical right and left as though they'd be interchangeable. I apologize that my poor picture angle led to this confusing situation.ace50 said:I've never had a bike where the top clamp was even. The gap should be parallel not angled as yours shows. This causes the bolt head to sit uneven.
You could prob live with it, just pointing it out.
Anyone else? Am I wrong here?
Seeing this is a 2014 and they are angled, could they be swapped left to right?

I'll give it the water test this weekend and let you know.tomatocity said:Let us know if it is waterproof/water resistant.
I would call mine water resistant at best. Everything I keep in it is in plastic bags.tomatocity said:Let us know if it is waterproof/water resistant.
