I don't see how that would be possible since it is technically over filled by about 1/8th quart. Only lights up on me when bike has been cold...so oil is still thick like molasses. Once at operating temp for a few minutes the light never comes on again.
You may want to change oil viscosity if you are finding oil 'too thick' in cold weather. But oil light coming on should not be the result of thick cold oil, generally speaking....... please update us when you resolve this ::008::

Or maybe use a synthetic, if you aren't already, as they flow much better than conventional oils when cold.

Already running synthetic Rotella T6. I forget the viscosity on it, as I am not looking at the jug. I will check once home...may have to change that oil but the bike is about to be sitting in pieces for a few weeks. Soon to go through an overhaul of bearings and such...and waiting for new suspension to be built.

Put Givi Crash bars on the new 2013 ST and love them. Paid $198.00 and can not figure why some one needs $400 bars ::26::
I expect the skid plate to come in this week or next.

I had problems with the Givi bars I had on my DL650 with vibration and rusting welds and joints.

Backn& forth to work commute. A bit cool in the morning but nothing that can't be handled using the right gear. Situation normal.

Took her out for a test spin yesterday, since I had not really had a chance to ride since changing the clutch basket and doing a TB synch. The improvement in smoothness is incredible! I'll be riding in to the job I have booked today.

Decided to start it up in the garage (admittedly yesterday, not today) Switched on the ignition, clocks go blank, see the 'see you soon' message (2014) and that was it. No lights on the instruments, indicators work, horn works , side lights work....so come to the conclusion I must have blown a fuse a couple of weeks back when tidying up the wiring on my Denali Sound Bomb install.....I know I could have been messing when the ignition was on .

Got to the ignition fuse, and sure enough it was blown....popped another one in and all seems well ( Bike needed Monday morning for commute despite the freezing weather, just glad I tried to start now and not then)

Replaced all 3 rear axle bearings. 86,920 mi. The one that came apart was the small one on brake side. Noticed a knocking sound at low speed that you could feel in the handle bars. BTW that's the side I got T-boned on by an F-150 last Aug. Not sure if that had anything to do with it, but looked like the grease seal was compromised.

Unfortunately we have now 20cm snow and -20C cold here in Finland.
Would be long 3 months to wait testdrive :'(

Took a chilly ride to the North Georgia Mountains. Just to make sure the gas in the tank doesn't get old and everything stays nicely lubricated.

just fitted a electronic cruise control to my 13mod tenere, what a fantastic device, dead easy install and great people made buy mc cruise Australia.
I put one on my 2012 about four years ago.
I almost never use it.
In a 11,000 mile ride to Alaska and back this summer I probable used it maybe a couple hundred miles, but I don't remember using it at all.
