I put on my custom made handlebars for the first time.

3.25" (83mm) higher than stock.

Now I have to lengthen everything, except throttle cables. You can just turn them downward.
Wires are easy to lengthen, and I figured a way to lengthen the brake lines cheaply.
Very comfortable position now. Being 6'3", and a long torso for my height, it really helped.

The Tenere has ruined other bikes for me. Everything else just seems small and uncomfortable. Damn Yamaha. ::013::

Well I have to finish my brake line extenders, but all the wiring is now 3" longer.
With 10" snow falling last few days, not going to be trying it out anytime soon. :'(

You didn't need custom handlebars, they sell apehangers on most cruiser sites, albeit black or chrome...........................
I have to see a pic with you on it with the new bars................pleeeze ::017::

Did you manufacture a few extra of those line extenders? That's slick. ::008::

How are you measuring this? I have pro-taper evo adventure high bars that are 3.62 inches higher than the stock bars, and are still no where close to as high as your bars. I applaud the ingenuity in the design, but those are the highest bars I've ever seen on a tenere. (and I'm basically a t-rex with short stubby arms :'( )

Just a little box that I made from some metal that I had laying around. Bolted to the Touratech plate that replaces passenger seat, should be waterproof but I haven't tested it that way :). two lock on the top no hinges or anything. I will try to snap some pics later.

Just tried out a new and simple idea to mount a GPS to the S10. No pics, yet, it may be something I put together in kit form and make available to our members in a few weeks.

Took it for a spin to test the Bark Buster Blizzards.....nice to have warm hands on a ride 8)
They look good, almost as if they came with the bike ::008:: If you get the opportunity or desire I would like to see a side shot of the BB's to see the side profile compared to the tank, etc...

The measurement I gave is the difference from stock bars in the 'c' dimension.
(3.25" (83mm) higher than stock)
From my picture's perspective, that looks about right.
At 6'3", these fit me, well as Goldilocks would say: It's juuussst right!
Thanks, that makes sense.

I didn't do much but I thought I'd contribute. I put my new Givi tank bag on with the locking ring. Cool system. Then I installed a pigtail on the battery for a Tender or air pump or what have you. I also installed my Alt Rider crash guards. I'll wait to install the Alt Rider skid pate until after my first oil change. 0 miles on the bike but heading to San Diego (maybe Baja) in June. First oil change at 600 miles and the second at around 2500 miles. After that, it's every 3500 miles or so.
Any recommendations on a dry bag for the rear rack?

I have heard that the final drive doesn't get as hot when it is serviced with synthetic fluid.

Not being one to miss an excuse to ride, this afternoon I drained the oil in my final drive and serviced it with synthetic GL-5. After buttoning it up, I went for a 55 mile ride around the area. After the ride, I pulled into the garage and checked the temperature of the final drive by hand. It was definitely cooler than when running conventional YamaLube, and cooled off quickly.

Im not sure if the final drive temperature really means anything, but it sure was a nice ride.

Installed some hyway pegs (14" forward) that use to be RoadStar pass pegs.
And I almost have my brake line extenders done for the taller handlebars. ::013::
Nice handiwork ::008:: Although, looks like you're regressing back to your cruiser days a little , with the highbars, feet forward controls (not quite) ::025::
