Put on my Altrider rear rack with the givi mounting kit. I noticed with my Givi 52l Trekker that the rear posts are not tall enough which prevented the case from engaging the posts. I had to take the washer off the bottom of the bolt and put it on top of the plate underneath the post to act as a spacer. Once I did this it mounts very securely.

The biggest advantage in my opinion to using this solution is that it gives the pillion rider enough space to be comfortable and still use the givi backpad on the trekker. I'm also going to look for a tool box/bag that will fit in the cubby hole under the rack.

I wouldn't take my bike back to a dealer that can't do something as simple as tightening a drain plug.

First oil/filter change as well as final drive fluid change. Reset oil maintenance reminder. That's probably it until next spring. I HATE WINTER!

No issues really. The log was smoth on top an it can to rest on the engine pan softly. it took me and two of my buddies to push me off. NOTE: I wouldnt have tried it by myself.

I won't be taking her back to that dealer. I'm guessing they didn't use a new crush washer.

What did I do today, I took her for a nice long ride in the hills. Oh what a feeling to get her back up and riding.

No new crush washer, That's just unacceptable!
Of course I haven't put on a new crush washer in around 40 oil changes and over 121,000 miles.

I'm guessing they didn't know what they were doing. Seems as if the service manager gives simple oil changes to the least competent wrench jockeys.

How can you tell if a new crush washer was used? Is it itemized on the bill? Is it leaking?

I rarely change crush washers either, figure if it's not leaking, then the washer is working. However, the manual calls for a new washer and if I was paying a dealer to change the oil, I would expect a new washer.

Sounds about right. I don't think I've put a new washer in that many times, but I respect your extra diligence.

I just swap the front and the back washer and torque them to specs. I figure if they had any unevenness it will be neutralized in the new position. If I pay real attention, I also flip them.
All joking asside,, I really agree with the statement " if it doesn't leak, it's all good". Few things on a bike are so easy to check and cause so little trouble as a minor leak.

If you look closely, you'll see the shoulder of the bolt will deform the washer to a degree. Flipping them around may create the opportunity for a leak. More often than not, it will be some grit left behind that could cause a small leak. Usually, for most people, it's a non-issue.

They ain't crush washers, just a copper washer for the pan drain bolts.
The final drive punkin has crush washers.

After the last change, dumping the drain pan, found a washer. So I am missing one. So what is the downside? 1k miles later no leaks so it goes back on in 3k.
