I've got a stock and a factory tall shield. No test yet, it's in the 30's in Buffalo, NY...camardelle said:Nice! Is that the stock shield you're using?
Thanks for the pics. They really help. Had a chance to test it out yet?
Works great!Defekticon said:I just ordered a harmonizer today, won't get it probably until next weekend, but I'm really curious to see how this works out.
Mine will be here tomorrow. Any tips on the job? Is the writeup on the forum accurate?BaldKnob said:Works great!
I didn't read the entire Harmonizer thread, just went by the Yamaha service manual. The left vacuum port is attached to a pressure sensor and the right is capped off. I removed and plugged the hose leading to the sensor then connected the Harmonizer to these ports, calibrated the device and started the engine. I may be doing something wrong here as the engine would run at a steady idle then after a minute, begin to stumble and eventually die. Cycling the key and restarting resulted in the same scenario. I got the happy face on the display, buttoned everything up and am now happy as a clam! If you have an angled screwdriver, you may be able to do this without raising the tank.Defekticon said:Mine will be here tomorrow. Any tips on the job? Is the writeup on the forum accurate?
AV: assume you did or are going to take care of the CCT.AVGeek said:Since I'm getting close to 24K (finally!), ordered up the clutch basket parts to do when I do the oil change. I'm also going to be looking into doing the valve check at the same time, but I've never done one before. Glad I have the FSM now and this forum!
You need to have that sensor in the system, not plugged off. Just get a plastic tee and short pieces of hose for the harmonizer line that goes to the side with the sensor. I'll taker a pic tomorrow and post it.BaldKnob said:I didn't read the entire Harmonizer thread, just went by the Yamaha service manual. The MAP sensor needs to remain attached to engine vacuum. Use of a vacuum 'T' will get it done.BaldKnob said:I didn't read the entire Harmonizer thread, just went by the Yamaha service manual. Thanks for setting me straight, guys. That may have given me a false reading as well so I'll check it again this weekend.fredz43 said:You need to have that sensor in the system, not plugged off. Not yet, the noise on startup isn't bad enough yet to warrant it.Hungry Tiger said:AV: assume you did or are going to take care of the CCT.
