Oil change. FD fluid change, lube shifter, adjust T-Rex highway pegs. Good for another 5k miles. Next 5k service, oil and filter, brake and clutch fluids.

Took bike into shop for swingarm,linkage and driveshaft service , also got the Yamaha MC131 warranty done (front brake switch) + a new rear PR5 & pads. NZ$1013, 6.5 hrs labour $520 , tyre inc freight & disposal $300 , pads $37.04 - the rest diff oil and consumables, tax.

That link my friend, has nothing to do with "2nd gear weakness" in an FJR. I was wondering about applicable years. Or, is it just the six gear trans?

Saturday I installed the crash bars and today went for the headlight shield.
By the way Saturday night rode the bike and I realized what you all know ... headlights need some help / auxiliary.

While not riding with the luggage I keep means to fix a flat under the seat. CO2 and plugs.
Usually also carry an electric pump ... don't leave home without it!

I think that a tire repair kit with the electical pump is a MUST, I had 2 tire failure in the road and help me to sort it out.While not riding with the luggage I keep means to fix a flat under the seat. CO2 and plugs.

It's around 5 hours work apparently & you can see the extent of the issue from those pics above. Yamaha must rue the day they they decided to add that extra ratio - my old 5 speed works just fine.
Will a recall like this is for none US bikes too? This is an issue!!

From what I read, it is only approximately 2,250 units. It always scares me when someone other than me digs into the bike that deep. "Hey! Whats this piece I have left over?"

Chorley Yamaha told me it takes a mechanic out of action for a whole week to do One gearbox recall. Pretty sure you don’t strip one down to that extent in just 5 hours, maybe the engine work is 5, once its out of the frame.?
