Finally broke down and properly routed gps cable and built braces for the madstad
Was yours vibrating and causing you to feel it at your helmet? Mine seems to be doing it, I was thinking of building a brace like you did. Nice work!

They are pretty easy to make I used 1/2 X 1/8 aluminum there is a big thread on the forum about it. The brace took about about 50% of the movement of the windshield and 80% of my gps bounce. Was definetly worth my time I tucked the bottom behind the plastic and rested on the brace that's there and put a slight bend in it so not to put any stress on the madstad

Alberta 66 is open all the way to Forgetmenot Pond allowing southern access to the Powderface Trail...
it was an overcast visually threatening day, which never materialized, I saw only five other motorcycles in 200 kms,
was hoping to rip some in the twisties but had a camper trailer doing 20 under going up the mountain,
and RCMPolice following me down the mountain...
looking forward to the end of this long weekend so I can have the roads back for myself.....

Installed Mitas E-07 front and rear tires. These replaced the battlewings. I rode a few gravels yesterday. I can deffinetly tell a difference. ::26::

Today I had my Continental TKC 70's fitted, sadly I wasn't able to ride my bike myself due to my banged up knee (see 'Bugger - knee down the wrong way' in the Lounge for full details...) but Littledave jumped at the chance of thrashing taking my bike down to Darren at Newsham Motorcycles to fit them. It may be a few weeks before I get to try them, but the certainly look purposeful.

Installed my heated grips... Because I really need them in May in Georgia... and added a SAE plug to run my tire pump, because I may actually need it.

The heated grips are pretty trick with the integrated controls.

For those looking for the handlebar discussion, it's been moved to the Modifications area, merged with the spreadsheet thread which Snakebitten remembered and brought back to life, and since it is a resource it has been given a sticky.

Fitted a set Karoo 3 this week, was happy with the Mitas E07's but they started to show some cracks so I thought it was time to try something new, tomorow it is of to some dirt roads and see how the Karoo 3's handle.
Those tires look really good!

Thanks, I did some gravel with them this weekend and they are great, I know they will not give me the mileage what the Mitas E07's will give but if I can get 4000 km (2500 miles) out of them I will fit them again.

230 miles in the North Georgia Mountains before lunch. Wolf Pen Gap Road, our local "mini Dragon" has a brand new surface - very nice.

Met a fellow Tenere rider from Florida who had just lost his OEM Top Case on some bumpy forest service road. It just broke off with the entire OEM plastic luggage carrier without him noticing. But they were fortunately on a dead end and so they saw it on the return.

And then I got caught in bad rain in the middle of the National Forest and decided too late it was time to put on the rain gear. Always a bad call.

This weekend I led a ride out to Alpine, Arizona to ride the infamous "Devils highway" RT666, no known as hwy191. I call this ride SpringFast, and this is the 10th year I've organized, and led this ride.

It was about 800miles round trip for me. I had friends from Iowa, Colorado, and of course, Arizona show up. it was a pretty diverse group, and of course, I was the only one on a Tenere. Some of the "kids" were surprised that a big bike with such huge boxes bolted to it could hustle through the curves like I did. Of course, it helps that I ride this road about 6 times a year. :))

Saturday morning we woke up to this:

Which didn't bother us old timers since we knew that Arizona snow will melt in a few hours. We loaded up and headed back down that twisty road again :p

It warmed up nicely by the time we got down to Morenci

Sunday morning was warmer

After some breakfast, everyone headed their separate ways, the end of a great riding weekend

So that's what I did with my Tenere this weekend!
