Blue S-10 has found it's home. 700 mi round trip to Cullman, Alabama today to pick up a zero miles S-10. Tomorrow, barring rain, the break in begins. Can't wait to experience what others have discussed. Thanks for all the insightful posts from the forum members.

Well, you'll definitely keep it 'whisper quiet' that way. ::008::

I took my Tenere in to have the o-ring recall done. Then I changed the oil, filter and final drive lube. It's ready for winter although I will still ride if the weather cooperates.

Installed a handlebar switch for my Denali 2's. Added a Gerbing coax panel mount to an L-bracket so I can plug in my Gerbing gloves and jacket liner ! ::012:: oh, and the other day I plugged the rear BattleWing after picking up a nice piece of metal the size of a 12d mail.....AARRGGHHH! ::010::

Did the 4000 mile maintenance cycle. Everything is good. Took a while to dig down through the tank and air filter box to get to the spark plugs, but they looked good. Is everyone taking apart the side stand and center stand to lube them or using some sort of spray version?

I took mine apart, but it was because I shortened them. The Kickstand has a bushing that I would grease. The center stand will be much harder but I think it is worth it. I used an OMC propeller spline grease that is very water resistant.

I still need to do my 4K (or "put it away for winter") service. I'll try some of the spray lube options first and if need be, take the stands apart.

Any chance of getting a pic of the Denali handlebar switch. I am interested.

TIA

Well, there went 250 miles! Huh, it feels like I only just left. Oh well, I guess I will have to try again later. ::021:: ::021:: ::021::

Not a worry in the world right now.

That's what I'm going to try first also. If I need to, I'll disassemble the stands and use some Bel-Rey (since that's what I have).

Noticed today that my side stand was slow to retract. Some spray lube cured that.

Installed the Givi crash bars that finally arrived. Looooong back-order.

Then made the mistake of reading the "Happy Trails Panniers" thread. ;D

That cost me just short of a grand.

So far, this forum has first convinced me to be an S10 owner. (that was a fun search-n-sieze adventure) And since then, with careful research and a disciplined trigger finger, it has pointed me to high value farkling.

The bike is well on its way to being a flat out masterpiece!

When I bought it, since I was already breaking my budget by buying a new bike too soon after buying the last new bike, I promised not to spend as much farkling it, but instead to use farkles I already owned. And I have been somewhat good; about half my farkles are recycled. Still, I ought to do better. I have an awful lot of farkles that were supposedly "the best" when I got them. They should be good enough still, right? But darn if those farkle companies don't keep offering up newer, shinier items. And I am a sucker for Ténéré-specific items. My credit card is overheating still. :-[
