You need to be sure the front wheels are anchored so they don't twist, and they will twist. A chock is the proper way to keep things from twisting, but I've seen a pair of boards screwed to the decking on either side of the tire keep things from going catastrophic.
I know you're only trying to be helpful, Don, but he has the bikes strapped front AND rear. It can't twist (or maybe I should say if it does twist) nothing will happen because the bike is "static". Regardless, he has the front wheel tied, to boot!

I have hauled motorcycles over some pretty serious mileage, and I have had shipping companies deliver bikes to the shop I work at. Wheel chock is not just a suggestion. I back up Don's suggestion that wood would provide that effect, and I have recommended this on multiple occasions. Surely, 4x 1' lengths of 2x4 would not be "overcautious".

+1 on the chocks, don't ask how I know. Look like a wood deck on your trailer, the 2x4 method is easily done with lag screws if deck is at least 1 1/2 inches thick, Through bolts and fender washers if thinner. Cheap insurance!

Walked out to the mailbox to get my Rox offset risers, came with a catalog, sticker and wow...........a bag of M&M's!!! That has to be a first. Installed and went for a quick test ride - works pretty good me thinks as far as positioning although not really my first choice as I never liked the idea of riser adapters and will likely explore another way to achieve the same result but it does confirm the problem (too much weight on wrists with the new seat) seems to be solved.

I ordered a GPS mount from www.gadgetguy.net this morning. In the afternoon I received a call from the owner Genna who went over the order and suggested I stop by his workshop since he’s a city away. So I swung by and had a great chat about the mount, GPS, and motorcycles. If you want well-thought-out billet aluminum motorcycle mounts check out his site. I bought the Base Plate II. I’ll post another pic when I install the Garmin Zumo 665, still waiting on the Eastern Beaver PC-8 to be delivered.

Ha!! Gotta love the interweb as an spontaneous advice column!

My goal in posting was to give those that have the SuperTen and WRR (as many do) or a similar bike a real-world idea of what actual weights were of the bikes loaded on the trailer. It was so easy and cheap, I plan to ride the SuperTen over there soon and get a real weight on it as well.

I have been trailering bikes - KLR650, SuperTen, and WRR - for years and have it well in hand. With one bike on the trailer, the front wheel is fixed to the front rail as seen in the photos with both bikes. Now that I have two on there, the superten's front wheel and the WRR's rear wheel is fixed to the rail. They are not going anywhere!! I bought a cheapo wheel chock at HF that will go around the rear-facing front wheel of the WRR and bolt to the plywood to insure that it is stationary as well.

Both bikes are rock solid and going nowhere but to WV to ride!!

Have some upcoming pure pavement rides over the next month or two so I pulled my TKC-80s and put on Pilot Road 4s, and replaced the OEM windshield with a Givi Airflow. First impressions of the Airflow are it's great. The PR4's are smoother than the TKC-80s. :D Too soon to have a real strong opinion on them. 2.5 hours in the garage and my 600lb dual sport beast is now a 600lb sport touring optimized beast. After about a month of pure pavement I have planned, the snow in the mountains will be mostly gone and I'll go back to the TKC-80s, pull the top half of the Givi off, and hit the woods.

I have just 250 miles on a 2014 Standard and was compelled to get it dirty yesterday.
Hit some nice jeep trails along the way a managed to get the bike "dusty", best I could do on day one in the dirt.
Had a good time and the bike did well.
So much fun to ride!

Watched it over with the Heeler

Sent from a brown rock...
How old is your Blue Heeler? They are beautiful dogs. Our dog is a mutt, but my vet *thinks* she has some Heeler in her.

Cheers,

Last night took of the right hand side panel - looked things through.

Give us a how-to thread if you find a way to mount a compressor. I carry my Slime compressor under the Altrider tail rack, albeit in an alternate bag. I have a Battery Tender pigtail that doubles as a power port for the compressor.

The problem I see with mounting a compressor (on any bike) is that you then need a long enough air hose to reach both wheels. Compare the bulk of same-length air hose v.s. 12v power wire, and the wire is a much better deal. I'm still enamored with the compressor mounting idea though.

Found the rear tire flat this evening on my wife's bike that I was planning to ride early tomorrow. So gave it a quick patch.

I'm not a big fan of my old K60s, but I do have to admit, never had a puncture in any of the 3 rear tires and two fronts that I used pretty harshly. Seems like everything since the K60s gets plugged on a regular basis.

I am halfway through my final exams for the semester. So I took a break from the studying and did a trial run of putting both bikes - the SuperTen and the WRR - on the trailer in advance of my 10-day trip to WV for the semester break.
...

Now I just gotta get through two more exams and then I am on the road back home to WV for ten days of pure dual-sporting bliss!
You give me hope I'll be able to get both my small bikes on my smaller trailer.

Speaking of my smaller trailer and your time back in WV...

Went for a spirited ride with a honda blackbird around the local twistee's then WOT on safe local speedway. He didn't beat me by much.

In the twisties or on a straight?

Love my Tenere, but if a Blackbird didn't run away on a straight - he doesn't know where the throttle is....
