What tyres does your S10 wear?

If you ride on asphalt "only" trail attack 3.
On my second set
Very good in every condition on my twisty mountain roads, cold or wet doesn't matter.
First set basically no highway about 12'000 km
Second set they look like will last longer because I have ridden some motorways around Europe and even though they got squared a bit due the weight of my holiday luggages they still handle well...
Obviously this is just my experience

I measured my '23 rear stock tire width at 6". I measured the distance between the brake caliper strut and tire at a real skinny 1/4". There may be some over/under between different bikes.

Continental TA3s are excellent tyres, I have been very impressed by them after years of riding on Michelins.
Is there any one thing that makes you pick them over the PRs?

Aren’t those Continentals the tires that come with the free towing warranty if you get a flat ?
I run 175 55 17 with about 1/8 from the brake stay no mods.......
175/55R17 tire has a section width of 6.9 inches which is the measurement of tire's width from its inner sidewall to its outer sidewall. Rim diameter of 17 inches represents the size of the wheel the tire can be mounted on. Sidewall height of 3.8 inches (96 mm) is the measurement from the wheel rim to top of the tire tread. Overall diameter of 24.6 inches (624 mm) reflects the outer diameter of the tire and stands for tire height. Circumference of 77.2 inches (1959.4 mm) is the outer perimeter of the tire. Tire revolutions indicate the number of times a tire revolves while it covers the distance in miles or kilometers. 175/55R17 tire makes 821 revolutions per mile (510 revolutions per kilometer).

When I was looking before purchase at the tenere I noticed the closeness of the caliper strut to the tire and thought that was plenty close. Not sure I could do 1/8”, but I used to be young.
What's so scary about that. Worst that can happen is the tire would rub on it. I got a 400000 miles on tenere. Never a problem

I found the PRs had a more rounded profile and more progressive turn-in where the TAs feel more sporty and have quicker steering, while I feel the Michelins have a softer carcass and the Continentals are stiffer so perhaps have more feel, horses for courses really. Grip in wet or dry conditions is really good with both brands of tyres. It’s difficult to say which is best when I would happily have either tyre fitted in a heartbeat. By the way, I think mileage on both brands was about the same using 2 rear tyres to 1 front. Michelins recommended pressure is 36 psi front and 42 psi rear where Continentals recommend 33psi front and 36psi rear. Neither brand suffered from uneven wear or cupping using recommended tyre pressures but the Continentals warm up very quickly as claimed.

Not all on the S10 but,
OE Bridgestones very good tyres
Original Metz Tourance very good tyres
TKC80 great tyre, but 2 rear punctures
Kenda big block, like a TKC but harder bit slippery
Karoo street, dont bother
Karoo 3. Performance wise excellent, rears dont last 5mins
Karoo 4, more road orinented than the k3, jury is out (currently mounted)
Mich RP4, sticky AF road tyre, way too thin for gravel
Anyone run TKC80 front/ E07 rear combo?

What would be the most aggressive front tire you could reasonably get for a S10? We're signed up for a 4 days moto adventure rally - only dirt, fire road, mud and single track. No asphalt.

Conti TKC-80 Actually holds up pretty well on the front too. Rears wear much more quickly. Kenda Big Blocks work well too.

iMHO the Kenda BB has a stiffer sidewall/carcass than the TKC-80. If you're in rocky terrain, the Kenda might hold up better and still dig in the loose stuff and mud.
I just registered my new Conti TA. They require an invoice number. Had to dig through the trash in the garage to find it. They also want the VIN but I jsut used my insurance card for that. Everything else was easy and normal.

If you are riding PURELY off road and want "aggressive" I would go with a motocross rear for an off road bike. The knobs are much deeper than any adventure type tire. Any 110/90/19 should work. You might even be able to find one that is DOT rated, but it doesn't sound like you need that.
