Anyone used one of these?
Any good?
I’d need to change the rear sight though for adjustable…
(I had to include a site here to show the difference in prices…)

You’re looking at this Marlin, 1895SBL .47-70 with a Vortex scope. It packs a wallop. . . .
I wondered what the recoil would be like. I've shot an old, hex barrel, breach loader .45-70 that was heavy. Recoil wasn't bad at all.
. . . . If you don’t load your own, a 45-70 here will cost you $3 a shot!
That's why he doesn't use it much.

Yes it is an expensive round but what isn't these day's. Its not the most expensive round I shoot.
This Winchester model 1895 fires a .405 round that cost around $10per. I get the brass custom loaded. As you may guess, it rarely gets fired, only on special occasions.
The one pictured is chambered for 30-06. Yes I have 2 of them. LOL
BTW a little trivia, this rifle chambered in a .405 was President Theodore Roosevelt choice for big game hunting in Africa known as the "big game medicine".
And the 1895 was also in service with the United States Cavalry, in a different caliber.

Never even seen one of those. That's quite the sighting system. The most expensive round I've shot is the .338 Lapua magnum; $5/rd. Used to think I wanted one, until I shot it. Not a pleasurable experience.

Hahaha
Well the 1895 isn't a pleasurable experience either. The 30-06 after a couple shots bruises your shoulder because there is no padding and the .405 has an insane kick to it. The rifle is relatively light for its caliber adding to the cannon effect HAHAHAHA.
The sights are Lyman sights, the rifle came with those sights from Winchester. Lyman sights been around for ever.

If you like this kind of stuff, this is my most interesting piece I may have in my collection.
Can anyone guess what it is.
It has a really cool history that will blow you away LOL.
I going to leave it a while and see if anyone gets it.

That's why was expecting quite the recoil from my M1 Garand. But it turned out to be more of a push than a shove. But between it being a semi-auto and quite the chunk of lumber, I shouldn't have been surprised. Very easy to shoot all day, if you can afford the ammo.

My guess, for the above rife: Remington model 81 Woodmaster?

Well you very close and figured that is what would be the guess.
The stamping is starting to wear, but this is serial number 4874 out of 4913 of them produced.

Its a Fabrique Nationale model 1900.
Designed by John Browning rights sold to the Belgium arms company FN.
They eventually sold to Reminton that sold them under the model 8.
Interestingly It was the fire arm of choice for the Texas Ranger Frank Hamer in the shoot out killing Clyde Barrows and Bonnie Parker.

The M1 Grand is a very heavy rifle, especially in full wood. It would absorb the shock because of the weight, sucks to carry though.

Looks to be a race gun. I'm sure it works fine. I don't know about your availability, but here's a "regular" version of it; $795usd. Price for the one you were looking at is $999usd.

Yes, it probably is a race gun- made for IPSC or similar.
We can’t look at guns for defence as we’re not allowed to defend ourselves.
Seriously.

If someone comes at you with intent to do harm, you cannot exceed the force to stop them with what they were going to use. If you kick them in the balls after they punch you in the mouth, you get charged with assault. If you use force to protect your family, they will do their damnedest to put you in prison.

And that's why I think that John Moses is a time traveling space alien. He is either directly responsible for, or had a hand in, designing most of the weapons that are still in use today. And there's a lot that came after him, that are based of his designs.

Here's what my guess was based on. I did notice the checkering wasn't exact though:

Although quite similar to our law(s), there is one key difference. We can exceed the force used against us, only enough to defend ourselves. Must be considered reasonable. And that's about all I can say without getting in trouble.

EDIT: Where many people have gotten themselves hemmed up, is when they get into a fist fight that started as self-defense. But when they get the upper hand, and the threat is over . . . . they don't stop. And I'm not talking about being nit-picky. For example: guy 1 threatens guy 2 and starts a fight. Guy 2 gets the upper hand, and guy 1 is no longer fighting, just lying on the ground. Guy 2, being justifiably pissed, starts banging guy 1's head on the ground. Literally, knocked the taste out of guy 1's mouth. Had guy 2 stopped when guy 1 was on the ground . . . . no charges. As it turned out, guy 2 was charged with aggravated assault w/deadly weapon (ground), tried, and sentenced to 10yrs prison. The Silver Back in me disagrees with this. "Don't start none, won't be none". Even the civilized part of me disagrees. "Reep what ye sow".

Yesterday I bought a new _______ ?
(Tool-Box?)
This particular toolbox was designed in 1911. It was built specifically to hold and dispense 10mm-sockets…………….cause you can never have too many 10mm sockets!
The toolbox holds 9 of them at a time, so you will always have a stash of 10mm sockets when your life depends on it……………and for those that keep losing them at a rapid pace, you can easily discard the “Drawer” and slide in a new one full of more 10mm sockets!
The toolbox is OD-green, with a black socket-dispenser.
The dispenser has a built in compensator, so that when you are dispensing a lot of 10mm-sockets, you can keep the toolbox steady!

Your 9mm short, used to be called the 9mm Browning. He sure did know his sockets.
