Variation on the seat mod with pictures

I installed the chair tips on the 4 posts of the moveable plastic frame, not on the rubber seat buttons. I fiddled around with different shim heights (felt chair leg pads) between the rubber tips. IOW, put a washer of felt in the rubber tip before sliding it on the post.

The thinking was that with differential shim heights I could dial in tilt as well as height.

IIRC, I did have to put a spacer under the metal latch bracket on the bottom of the seat to allow the latch to engage the now-farther-away seat.

For all that fiddling, I eventually went with the original seat mod (with the different sized bumpers), and I've since bought a Sargent seat, which I'm also not crazy about.

Making my butt happy has been the biggest struggle with this bike.

Can you show photos of how you placed the spacer underneath the latching bracket to raise it up? I'm not seeing how this is possible. What kind of spacer did you use to raise it up?

I really like your idea with using the rubber tips from chairs and putting felt pads inside to ship them up.

Lots of price variation among retailers on these simple things. Best online price I've found to date in USA is Partzilla at $4.14 each. Still kinda high for a little piece of rubber, but it is a special piece of rubber, I guess.

Haven't picked up my Tenere to look at it yet, but why can't you simply cut down the stock rubber bumpers?

I've been running this seat mod for years and years now, with the stock seat and never any butt discomfort.
