Back from travel and had a couple of nice rides on the Guzzi the last couple of days. Bought it expecting to move quick the the new water Stelvio but this thing is so comfy and friendly it'll probably be around for a while.
Thought that last post needed a bit of 'splainin'
Really been watching development of the new water Stelvio and the only thing holding me back from putting down a deposit is looking at the seats. The front seat looks pretty thin and like it would lock the riders' butt in one place, which sucks for doing long days. We also found that for 2-up we didn't like how far up Jackie was on the rear of the Tiger 1200. So even though the back seat on the Stelvio isn't that high I'll hold off till I can sit on one. btw - The V100 engine has proven to be a solid motor and the few teething issues have been corrected on the Mandello sports tourer it debuted on.

I do get to ride a fair number of different bikes. I assure you, that wasn't me. My wheelies on big bikes are less lofty these days.
I don't think it's easier to make wheelies with 115 HP in the Stelvio, than with 112 HP in the S10, which you said was not so easy.
I don't think competing is a consideration for them. Guzzi pretty much has done what they want regardless of the market. They do see the ADV market doing quite well and decided to offer up their version. But they're still gonna do it their way.
Soon Cagiva will appear again...and DKW will surely follow

HP , how much is enough ? the Tenere has plenty unless you'r going to drag race KTM or Ducati's .... but with big HP comes thirstier engines , and eventually higher insurance premiums . I think 115 is enough to have a great time riding and passing , and the giggles one has when you see that the multistrada rider is parked in front of the gas pump feeding his beast . and his greatest worry is running out of gas .
I can improve the performance of the Tenere for almost nothing , I just need to lose 65lbs . and improve its efficiency at the same time . sounds like a plan .
P.S. the Guzzis look good .

I have to constantly watch to make sure the back tire does not break loose while cornering, and when it's real hot, even in a straight line. It's how our roads are constructed. But if I had more HP, I'd have to come up with a different riding style.

You are absolutely right about the HP..115 are enough.but Guzzi, just because it is called Guzzi, I don't think it sells much if not it offers something "different." If it had offered 150Hp...it could compete with Thriumph, or Aprilia, or at least make a potential buyer doubt. I think the idea is to sell...and for that I see CFMoto's as the best strategy. If it is true, who would think of buying a cheap 800 motorcycle??….but hey, that is the “difference”…it is cheap
