Got mine today, install literally took seconds. Seems to work really well, I am using it right on the grip, have not put on their rubber sleeve don't think I'll need it on these grips.

To disengage really all you have to do is roll off the throttle. This is probably the best $20 I've spent on the ST so far!

+1 Real easy, just twist the throttle off and next time you want it on, push it down with your index finger. I don't even notice it on there when riding.

Which size Go Cruise are people installing? I've heard on other forums from people who had the 7/8" version because that's what their bars were, and it broke, and it turned out they had to get the 1" instead.

I have the 7/8" version which seems to be perfect. I suspect if you are not careful when installing and pull it apart too much there would be a chance of snapping it. I kind of did a twist while pulling it open so the piece did not have to open as much and it went on fine.

Naw. It is even simpler than that! It just grips your throttle and hold against brake lever. It is basically a strong spring clamp.
:D ok thats easy...... :)

Years ago we used to make some like this out of a J shaped welding rod and a rubber band for tension. Cheap, but worked on the same principle.

We used to bend a coat hanger and use a rubber band to do the same. It worked fine, but you could gouge your grips with the metal coathanger.

I also ordered and am using a GoCruise. Will be going back to the Vista based on the fact that when riding hills you are always fiddling with the throttle and the Go Cruise to maintain speed. With the Vista you simply roll the throttle and it holds it in place.

I have used Vista-Cruise9s) for years on my bikes. I have one on order for the ST.

I never thought about gluing them to the throttle housing...I always drill & tap the throttle housing a use a short 4mm countersunk screw.
I have the same setup with a screw for position on my FJR.

A good set of instructions:

Good to see a first post from one of our lurkers!! ;)

"manually roll the throttle shut" but do you use anything to hold it partially open to rest your hand?

Works fine on an FJR, but the throttle cable housing that you drill and tap on the FJR i at the top on the S10. I have looked at this and it doesn't appear to be an option. We are looking at a small metal bracket to attach to it and then attatch tpo one of the small allen screws that holds the throttle housing to the bars.

Hey all, recently put some miles on the new scoot - and found I needed a throttle lock of some type - my other bike (BMW RT) had the Oring mod and it worked like a champ, but that mod is not going to work on the Tenere (to much gap between the bar end weight and the grip end) so I started thinking I've always been partial to the vista type lock but....... the throttle cables coming out the top made modifications needed, I'm a K.I.S.S type of guy so, I went down to the local Cycle Gear and got their brand of vista throttle lock - the one for the Honda looked easiest to mod. After I got it home I had to find a way to anchor the tab , well I finally tried a loop of safety wire around the lower throttle bolt head then back to the tab on the throttle lock (I drilled 2 #40 holes in the tab) secured with safety wire (bent the pig tail up and out of the way) looks clean - the black blends in and I took it for a ride works like a champ..... ::012:: ::015::
Here's pics for illustration......
