Here's the city tank bag on the FJR. You can see that it's a snug fit due to tank shape. It's fine though. :)

Also a pic of the map case on the XT1200Z
NICE!!!! It's looking more and more like I need to get TWO of the mounts........... One for the SuperT and one for the FJR!!!

Let's see, Father's Day and a birthday coming up........... I wonder.........

;)

(thanks for the pictures!!!)

I finally have a video and sound clip of the MotorradWorks Carbon exhaust for those interested.

Been working on my edit/export parameter shills.
I think I may be getting there with the save as at least - Just need to learn how to do the fancy transitions and add some audio.

Watch in 1080pHD or 720pHD.

Filmed with VioPovHD with microphone behind me.
Need to change to Full view exposure rather than Spot exposure.
This is with baffle out.

As I described the clip on YouTube:
A short slow ride on the WaspWorks XT1200Z Super Tenere up our local water pipeline.
Gives folks a chance to hear the sound of the MotorradWorks carbon muffler system with the baffle out.

This was recorded with a new VioPovHD with the microphone on my back.
You can hear it at W.O.T a few times but cant get up too much speed or make a lot of noise as, apart from the randomly placed gotcha rocks, it is also a well used walking trail leading into the local township.

Really just an upload test as I work on my editing/exporting parameters.
Should be able to view in 1080p HD.

Gimme some feedback.

(Yes I know - Speedo is disconnected with ABS and TCS off... Must work on that)

Greg.

Thanks for the video Greg. That sounds great. Your setup is my favorite. Maybe I will be able to spring for one of these one day.

Awesome sounds, thanks for posting Greg! Now that we are getting within striking distance I am lining up my need-to-have accessories, and that pipe sounds sooo good.

Greg did you post a dyno report for that pipe? I saw mention of one a while back but didn't see anything when I searched to forum. Thanks much!

Hey Greg - great vid - is that up around Chidlow somewhere? My granny used to live right by that pipeline at Mt Helena, had many childhood days walking along the top of it - but I digress...

So... I guess this means you got a new camera? You never found the Go-Pro did you? What's this one and how do you like it?

I have been too busy to find the time to get down to the dyno Maybert.
I have informed my partner what I want to do and he is ready and waiting for me but his dyno business is 275kms away from me so it means a full day out of my schedule.
I have trimmed my design workload back a bit but it still looks like a month before I can find that sort of spare time.
The busy work schedule has actually slowed me down on a lot of products I have in mind for this bike. :(

Yep, cigar to the Strom riding ExPat ;)

I went out and did a slow-mow search for the GoPro but to no avail.
I ended up getting the new Vio-PovHD... Solid as a brick shithouse with great audio and picture.
It takes a bit of planning what to do with the cable from the remote camera head but it's great for composing the right cam angle on the screen.
Also, I was getting really pissed at missing moments when I thought the GoPro was recording but had not engaged.
Still got a bit of work to do to find the right cam placement but I am enjoying the learning curve.

I hear ya with the busy work schedule. Hopefully with our NA bikes coming soon you'll net a lot business.

I've already mostly made up my mind to go with the motorrad pipe, it's by far the best looking one I've seen and the sound is great. Nice job! Just gotta figure out how to sneak this past the accountant... she is already on high alert with the bike coming soon.

On that front... Get in contact with the guys at Twisted Throttle (you listening Kev?) and pressure them to commit to stocking MotorradWorks products for distribution in the States.. 8)

I just posted up a new video in my exhaust thread in the Vendor section (really enjoying this so far) which has very good audio of the MotorradWorks CatBack carbon muffler system for those who are interested.
Bottom post on this page: http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=488.15 titled - "WaspWorks S10 carbon muffler"

K&N filter installation on the WASPmobile.

Hi all.
Based on the Bargenators ride report (and persuasive insistence) I installed a new K&N filter to the S10.
The Aus spec Uni filter arrangement is certainly a pain in the ass to clean and the more I thought about all that oil and crap in the filters the more I leaned towards the easy maintenance of the K&N set-up.

Anyway, here's a few pics and a brief rundown on an easy install.

1/ Remove the bottom R/H/S and the whole L/H/S farings.

2/ Unplug the tank wires and carefully lay the tank back.

3/ Remove the Original paper filter, or in this case the foam Uni filters. Thoroughly clean inside the airbox base and lid... Remember that the airbox is now an active part of the filtering process where previously the Unifilters were straight onto the rubber intakes. Any dirt left inside the filter box COULD find it's way into the intake now.

4/ Not completely necessary but a good safety measure is to use silicone grease on the rubber sealing ring to ensure ALL air has to go through the filter.
This is where the molded ridge on the underside of the K&N filter seals against the rubber sealing ring inside the lower part of the air box.

5/ Install the new filter into the greased housing groove checking that it is pushed all the way home.

6/ There is another rubber sealing ring in the top half of the air box. We believe it's a good idea to use the silicone grease here as well.. You can never have too much safety measure.. Remember, this is silicone GREASE - not silicone sealant..

7/ Plonk the lid back in place and secure all the retaining screws.
Dont forget to install the middle screw and rubber centre plug.

Filter model number:

Worth picking up a K&N service kit as well:

For under $90 I think this is a mod very well worth doing.
Dont know why Yamaha Aus did not go down this path in the first place rather than use those dirty shity Unifilters with the spring wound wire down the throat of the intakes

I will be heading out for another ride in the forest this Sunday so I will report my findings on any improvement or otherwise.

Greg.

More "Farkles" today..

I sent a set of my Ducati tail chop LED indicators to a customer in the States recently and arranged a parts trade in lieu of cash exchange.

I have always thought that the heal plates on the S10 look like a third world copy of a cheap Chinese car company's component and have always liked the look of the new Touratech composite plates in black.

These parts were surprisingly cheap (for a touratech part ) so the American customer jumped at the opportunity to save a few greenbacks resulting in these arriving in the mail early this morning. 8)

Although very good quality and build, they serve no different purpose that the OEM part but definitely look sharper... I think so anyway, and that's what's important.

Ohlins shock (weighted correctly for my bulk) due in about two weeks then it's off to the suspension guy to tune the front right for me and I will be a happy Wasp... O0

Greg.

Edit: Yes I can see the bike is dirty, but I have pressure washed it after the weekends mudbath and will finish the clean during the week - Hopefully - If I dont go out for another ride instead.

I think this is the best set-up as well. The great part about the S10 airbox is being able to reoil the filter from the clean side, without pulling the filter. When I lived in WA, we only cleaned the K&N filters when you could no longer see the pleats. They work better dirty, which is a real plus in very dusty conditions. UNI didn't exist in those days, Filtron still did. I don't care for oiled foam then, not nuts over it now. I'm aware that some feel that really fine dust and grit can get through, which is no doubt true, but if you don't clean them any more than necessary, I think that is a limited problem, at the worst. We ran our two strokes very hard over 20K miles without needing a bottom end job, so they couldn't have ingested too much grit.

Hey Greg,

As I mentioned, I just spent $60 on a set of the "shitty Unifilters" from Midland Yamaha... but just to make sure I have all the bases covered, I bought a K&N - for $35 inc shipping, from Amazon. So now I'll have the same filter options as you, for the same amount of money as you spent on the K&N :D
