Well since Anthony (keeponriding) is being all responsible and putting food on his family's table (instead of riding over Friday with me) I think I'll start my ride Thursday. Might mosey on down into Arkansas for a day before heading up to Bixby Friday afternoon.

Scoop, MarkB found this ferry crossing the MISS below Cape Girardeaux....I was kind of hoping to try that....maybe we could all ride down there together, then head north through Land Tween the Lakes with us heading off to E'Town and you guys heading north to E'Ville?

On the way home I would say we are game for anything. We can work out the details at the meet. Heading there on Thursday if any one wants to travel US50 West with us out of Washington, Indiana.
Anybody want to kill a few days near the Gap and Cherohala the weekend before. I'm going down there on Saturday the 15th and heading home Tuesday the 18th . Planning on staying at two Wheel in in Roddinsville, North Carolina.

Muley & Scoop are a go and can't wait to ride. I'm soooo ready I think I will ride to the Gap and Cherohala the Saturday before , come home Tuesday to meet up with Muley and head for Bixby !

("Work intrudes....I have to be in Boston that whole week, returning Friday evening, unfortunately.

I may be able to get out a day early, but won't know until middle of that week.

I'm still planning on getting to hotel later Saturday afternoon, if you will still have me (shoot, even if you won't...being unwelcome never stopped me). Allows us time to get likker'd up, shoot out street lights and generally terrorize the populace (oh, wait, for a second I thought this was a BMW gathering)."

Anthony if you are comming back home on Sunday your are more than welcome to ride back with us to southern Indiana.

If you haven't tried this....

South on 129 from Robbinsville to 129/74; East on 129/74 to your first right, Wayah Rd (might be called Tellico Rd there) and follow that around to 64 into south of Franklin;
Take 64 south then your first left onto Elijay Rd...which takes you to Speedwell.

Mtn rds with very little traffic....lots of twisties and great views, off the beaten path.

I have a GPX of dirt trails to around Tellico Plains and the Cherohala Skyway if you want.

Life does get in the way at times.
Muley had to cancel but I will be there after a short trip to my favorite road The Cherohala Skyway. I leave in the morning for Tenn.. Muley may jump back in on short notice but if not I'll have a room with an extra bed if there is a rider out there thinking about this at the last mintue I can share to save $.

Just got back from my "Gap" trip.
Ellijay Road was awsome. Thanks for the tip. From there I rode Tilley Creek road to 107 then south all the way to 28 Highlands Highway north back to Franklin. Was going to run it all the way to the Gap but the skies told me otherwise. Back to Wayah then north to Two Wheel Inn for a break. Then I ran the Cherohala again since it's my favorite road next to Senic byway 12 in Utah. Next day I did ride 28 Hell Bender and a lap on the Gap as it was Monday and much less crowded.
Left two Wheel Inn this morning at around 4:45 AM and made it home after the longest rainy day ride I have ever been on. Ran the Gap in the dark with wet leaves everywhere and no extra lighting now that is the challenge of the day. Every flippen curve the lights where covering only ten feet in front of me during the lean .
Anyway a day of rest and Bixby bound Thursday :)

Headed out Thursday myself. Slabing through western KY and crossing the big muddy at Cario. Riding 142 across southern MO and then down 9 in AR to camp at Greers Ferry lake. Friday headed to Park Hills via 16, 7, 123 etc.

See you all Friday.

I must be the only rider who doesn't like the gap...too many squids on and weekends, too many RVs/pickups/trailers/cops.

Can't beat the Cherohala...though I prefer Mo's place (Kickstand Lodge)...a bit homier....I don't think there is a bad road between Etowah and Asheville.

I'm in Boston for the week so can only join you guys Saturday night for dinner and drinks (bringing a bottle of rye to pass around)....and a fun ride home I've planned for thems heading easterly Sunday.
