Checking in. When I go up there was a heavy frost on the bikes, and it was cold.. LOL Arrived home at 19:47 and was pretty tired. It was over 660 miles and this old dude was really sore.

Really enjoyed meeting everyone and the great conversations.
Thanks to Fred and Freak(Ed), you guys made up some great rides and the swag was really nice also.
Can't wait for the next one.

Just a little short piece about the ride home. I was on 69 and in a small town, four lane road. I was in the right lane with no one in front of me and a semi a ways back behind me. There were 3 cars in the left lane.
I don't know why, but I decided to go into the left lane behind the cars.
The semi I notice in my mirror was not slowing down enough. I kept watching as he slammed on his brakes and slid into the intersection.

All I can say is, Thank You....

Thanks to Fred and Ed for making this happen. Great ride and great people.

The guy on the left is Tom, the Yamaha rep. He answered all our questions and had free stuff to give away. We liked Tom

I think Ed found this cigar and was trying to figure out if it was alright to smoke ::025::

Here's a few highlights.

It was an honor to ride with you guys! I had a ball and I'll be back. Fantastic country, don't know why it took so long from me to look just a little west. Think you guys might be keeping this a secret!

Thank you for the great pics, Mark.

BTW, I'm fom IL, where the roads are straight and flat and boring, like God intended, but I prefer to ride in MO. ;D

It was great meeting everyone and thanks for posting the pictures. A special thanks to Fred and Ed for organizing things and showing me some incredible roads I've passed by before.

Though I was not *officially* on the Bixby Tour Ride, I did get a chance to swing by Rosener's in Park Hills on my way to Sullivan, MO, and as such got to meet a bunch of the great Super Ténéré forum mafia. Thanks so much to Fred for inviting me as well as helping me so much with my routes up through Arkansas and Missouri.

Funny thing, too... As I was riding up through Arkansas on AR-123 I saw another S-10, and had the good fortune to meet Mark (mbabc here on the forum)...

From there it was some great roads up through AR and MO, and I realized I had time to make the *detour* to Rosener's. When I get there here's what I found...

S-10's everywhere... With mostly *fast* blue ones there... ;)

Thanks to all those in attendance for making me feel so welcome and letting me join in for a few minutes. It was all too soon I had to be off for Sullivan and Bourbon, MO for our AHRMA vintage MX races. I would have loved to go with the S-10 group and explore all the wonderful Missouri backroads, but maybe next time. It was great fun meeting you all. ::008::

p.s. here's links to first my ride pictures up through TX, AR, MO and then back through MO, AR, and OK... and to the pictures I took at the Mudville USA AHRMA vintage MX event...

Dallara, it looks like you had a great trip, thanks for posting the pics. Also thanks for taking a bit of a detour to stop by Rosener's and say hello. We all enjoyed meeting you.

Eureka Springs is ok, but may be cheaper a little further south. Are you thinking of staying at Roseners and ride to the Springs?

Yes start at Roseners and ride some awesome back roads all the way down
Unless everyone would just want to meet in Arkansas. Either way is good.
Or some could meet at Roseners and ride and some meet in Arkansas. I'm open to whatever
We have all winter to plan it.

Jim I remember you saying something about some good riding further south in Arkansas
We can meet down that way , everyone could just go straight there since it would be right in the middle.
We can always put together another Bixby and beyond ride later next year also ::008::

Ed, That sounds great! Maybe the idea of meeting somewhere in the center would be good. If we start thinking about it now, I'm sure something good will come up.

My son and I spent a week exploring AR and southern MO last Oct and we plan to do more starting Oct 6. I have also noted our favorite roads in order of enjoyment on an AR map (123 is #1) and would be glad to share what we found. We have stayed overnight in Mountain Home and Fayetteville and stayed in Russellville with a fellow S10 rider that bought one of the PDP bikes from me. Great roads all around there. Perhaps we'll take a look at Eureka Springs this trip. We are also planning on going further west in southern MO this time.
