I'm thinking a hook holding something in the back? Was it a pickup?
I agree with Phil on this one. There's a crease at the top that looks more like from something pulling up than just a fold. Also if it were air pressure the felt sound deadening should be blown down around the engine but it's pretty intact.

CW is correct.

Remind me to tell you a story about 160HP bikes and this particular scenario. That's all I want to say here.

The age-old saying about bold vs old pilots could also be said of people who ride powerful bikes.
This discussion popped into my head today as I was coming around a blind right turn in PA with a steady slow stream of traffic coming the other way so there was NO way I was going into the oncoming lane. That's about when coming around the apex a bit too fast and leaned in there was an Amish buggy NOT on the shoulder where he belonged, but dead center in the middle of my lane.

It was my bad but even so . . .

Glad you exercised wisdom and stayed safe. I also thought of this discussion today when I found myself in exactly the same situation at exactly the same location that I had previously referenced. Happy to say I applied the lesson learned last time and made a much better decision. Maybe I will grow old.

In the end, after 5000 years we did not learn anything from the Egyptians: ...
if you want your house to last a lifetime, make it of stone ...
and for something they venerate felines:):)
