I have been to the TAR before and have had a blast. Cool roads and Richard puts on a good event!

We are planning to go, along with 5 other riders. We plan to stay at the KOA again (now a Good Sams Park).

That does sound like fun! I rode some of the roads in the Hill Country back in 2008 like the three twisted sisters. I really want to go there again.

Great place to ride. Fine paved roads and cool hard packed dirt roads. Good time to meet other riders is Thursday and Friday late afternoons at the Best Western.

We Super Tener's need to make a good showing. This area would be home to them. ::008::

Note:
If you have not done paved water crossings in this area, some are tricky, but not bad as long as you check the traction line first, off the bike with your boot. Some crossings change from normal car line to off of it in the mid part between the car tracks. weird............. must be in the water. ??? If you get off the line it is slick as owl snot and will go down hard before you know it. I have seen it a number of times. Just stay straight up slow and as smooth as possible with the gas hand. No problems ::013::

Fun would be had by all!

Pray for good weather!

Hmmmmm, this is the weekend after Moonshine. It's sometimes iffy heading east that time of year, but perhaps the weather would cooperate to head south!!! Tempting. Very tempting.

I did the TAR a couple of years ago....it is alot of fun. Highly recommended and there are some good routes for large adventure bikes...
Just may have to do the Adventure Challenge this time.
I'll mark my calendar.

OK

Look forward to meeting you all...

Thanks for posting.

This Adventure Challenge looks extremely interesting. Timing is perfect for my biz; I’m a cpa. How does one go about signing up?

I am very interested in this. However I have never done anything like this. Could anybody who has tell me if this is suitable for a first timer? This type of riding is one of the reasons I was so interested in the Tenere and bought it. My only expection out of the event would be to camp, ride, meet great people, and have the time of my life. Thank you in advance to all of those that have advice.

This would be a great ride for a first time Adventure. Richard has a ride guide with all the routes and a rating system of the level of difficulty assigned to each.

You asked "the boss" prior to making all the arrangements ::005::

I’m definitely in. This sort of event is why I got the Super Tenere, easily worth the two day ride over. I’ll keep an eye on that site. In the mean time I’ve gone ahead with my hotel booking to get that out of the way…not much of a camper here although I could sweet out a night if I had to.

Still showing why I am a novice, but is this something that is signed up in advance or is it just show up and ride? Thanks
Richard has not listed the details as of yet for this years TAR and the new Adventure Challenge, but I do know if you plan to go to the Saturday night banquet and awards ceremony he will need money for that.

I'm sure he will post information soon.
