Thanks for fixing my link ::008::
Of particular note is the picture of BMW Bryan drooling over a red moped and the Ducati guy drinking Chardonnay at a motorcycle rally. For some reason both pics crack me up! ::015::

Tacopapa, I can't believe you dropped your bike and REALLY can't believe you hoisted her up solo! Ouch!

UncaBuddha, the soil seemed solid but it's not! The side stand completely buried itself. No choice about hoisting it alone, nobody else was around (use your legs, they say). No harm done to bike ... Or me. Rode 550 across NE & CO yesterday, good to be home. All take care; waiting to hear final from Doug, Brian, Bernie in PNW.

Hey Doug, Bernie, & Ron - great to hear your progress to PNW. I know you wanted to avoid I5 but better to stay off possible ice! Here's some geology for ya: don't trust the side stand at campsite in the loess bluffs of western Iowa; all silt, no rock for 200' down. Adrenalin got her up, no damage. Good riding, guys.
Enjoyed the rides with you and Steve. Careful picking up the pig, can be hard on the back. We should be home Friday about dinner time. I 5 was long and boring but you can make good time.
Maybe see you next year
Doug , Bernie and Ron.

Made it back into Vegas today. Took a really round about route back to here. Tulsa 1st to visit an airplane project I'm following
Then up into Kansas , across to Colorado thru some really great roads,Arizona, up to Utah & back into Nevada.
Will spend 14 days or so based here getting my automotive fix, NHRA races, SEMA show, Global Rallycross, RG Stadium Super trucks and qualifying for Baja 1000. plus a little more desert riding
Then bike gets a rest for 6 months while I head back to the snowy/cold Yukon
It was a pleasure meeting all of you & riding with a few. Make sure to let me know whenever you're heading up the Alcan
BTW have clocked over 12k miles on this trip and I haven't started home!

OK, Tabasco. Where and when is the 2015 rally so I can get it on my calendar? Would have attended this year but accepted another commitment about two weeks before learning about the '14 rally.

I think if the rally is held at The Hub next year, we should delay one week later so we have better leaf color.

If not, I vote for somewhere in the Eastern US. Lewisburg, WV or Snowshoe, Asheville, NC area, or north Georgia.

...my 2 cents.

If we had it a week later this year, we would not have had such great weather. We were very lucky this year, as the week before was wet and the week after (right now) is cold and windy.

Three more days for us to get home. Trying to beat a cold front heading towards PNW this weekend, calling for mixed rain and snow in higher areas. The weather in our travels has so far been near perfect.

Home this morning, road in the rain the last two days but relatively warm.
Total mileage for the trip 6561 miles current mileage on the bike 73750 Km on the Mitas tires now 22500Km. A little life left on them but have a new set of Battle wings I'll put on for the winter and order another set of Mitas for next year. Bikes averaged just under 50 mpg US at 70-75 mph Running fairly steady at 3800-4000 rpm the last three weeks. The weakest part of the bike is the person sitting on it. Thanks to the air hawk seat cusion and the McCruise control for getting me there and back in comfort. Saw lots of new to me parts of the States but not in a hurray to pass through upper New Mexico or Texas in a while.
The Hub was a great venue for the get together but The distance and time of the year was a limiting factor for a lot of people. Look at the location map of participants. Very from West of Vegas and very few form northern areas that likely would have been there if they could have. All that said thanks to Jaxon and Carson for their hard work and the vendor support again. Again a Canadian takes home the big prize.

Arkansas, again.
Moab would be cool but that is pure off road.
Colorado, again.
Georgia or Carolina could be interesting.
Texas hill country...might have to schedule this one in the middle of winter to avoid the wonderful Texas summers.

Yep, I burned up my clutch last week in Arkansas....I made the mistake of getting buried in an Arkansas mud pit....totally unplanned since I not a big off-roader. The clutch did not die in the mud but quit on me a couple of miles down the forest road....nothing funner than breaking down in the middle of the Ozark forest when you are riding alone....thanks to everyone that helped me out to get back to The Hub and to get the bike recovered and to the dealership...especially Bob from Atlanta and Pete "Ride with No Name" Patrick.

Anyway, my bike is still in Harrison. Last Friday the dealership had repaired the clutch, but as I was warming up the bike the oil light came on... Long story short... the oil pump was damaged from the clutch fragments and had to be replaced. In searching for a replacement, they could only find ONE pump in the US and 4 in Japan...oh well...I had to leave the bike and get a ride home from my lovely wife. She drove up on Saturday and I drove home.

Plan on going back to Harrison in a couple of weeks with the trailer. If everything works out...I'll spend a day riding a couple of the roads I missed last week.

Mike

Doug glad you Bernie and Ron made it safe!

On the subject of next year: Big Horn Mountains of Wyoming in July. July gives longer riding days and central to North America. There is lots of good riding and plenty to see. It's far enough north for cool nights for camping. Whatever is decided I'll try to be there. Enjoy hanging out with everything Tenere.

Mike glad your getting things straightened out. Things can always be worse says the the guy with 9 working fingers. It was good to talk to you at camp.
