My easy go-to tire "recently" has been the Shinko 804-805... The rear tires might not be unloaded off the ship until the 15th of July. Even if it takes them a few days to unload the container, it is getting WAY to close for the Rally for me to receive them.... Thats "if" they get here by the 15th.

So, Im considering these two other options (if there available and I can find a set) Tire sets are getting hard to find. I don't believe I have ridden either of these more than 10 miles before. And was not really paying attention to the tire performance at that time.

Michelin Anakee Wild
OR
Bridgestone AX41

Anyone here try one or both of these on there Tenere ? Could I get your input please?

I ran two of the AX41 rear tire. Good off road performance when new. Good on road tire, for a knobbywears quick-for me was a 3000 mile tire.

I ran a Kenda Big Block knobby, and think it was a bit better off road. About the same mileage, but cost less than the AX41.

I prefer the Shinko 804 front to the Kenda big block front.

The Michelin looks like a fine tire.

I’ll gladly put on a set if someone wants to send me some.

I just got the rear Shinko today from Amazon. Took less than a week. Front only took three days. They did come from two different places.

Not popular on this forum, but I've run Mefo tires and found them to be great (on my klr). Twisted Throttle still has the pair on closeout for $142, I bought them for my T12 but not yet mounted. They are 5 years old but at that price are worth a look.

Thank you,....... The Radial is available but I would like the bias tire... The rear radial knobs are HALF the height of the bias knobs. Its a strange situation. I had a phone meeting with the Shinko @ WPS. Rocky Mountain sent me a front and rear, the front was bias the rear was radial....

Can you tell me if you received a bias set or a radial set ?

Can't verify as I'm in Iowa for the weekend.
Appears to be bias (wouldn't the R be in the model number for the Radial?)

I called them directly and the guy "Jacob" was VERY helpful. He confirmed it was the bias tire, so I ordered one.... Thanks !

I believe Q is speed rating. I think an R is added for Radial. Hope it works out for you. Looking forward to giving the Shinkos a try.

Got some Shinko 705s on my Husky Terra. I like them for road use. Nice communicative feel through the blocks, but no idea how they would perform on the ST.

Have you ever dealt with American Moto Tire?
I have ordered from them twice in the last year and their prices and service are good-to-go:

Nope. But I’ll check into it. Thank you ! I have a funny feeling I’m still looking.

Thanks for that. I normally try for a set of 50/50 and travel across the US to the destination so I can blast some off road. I have my Tenere basically set up as a big dirt bike. I need some knobs to blast off. And then cruise home another 1000-1500 miles. All they need to do is make it home. Most of the time I still have lots of tread left and I do weekend rides and have fun on them.
If I rode the bike to work everyday I would throw on some 90-10 or 80-20 and go back to dragging pegs on the super Tenere.
That brings up an OLD post and ‘thought’. I remember when the K60 first came out, about 2011-2012. I was dragging the pegs everyday on the Tenere and taking the K60’s all the way Past the edges. NO chicken strips at all. Someone piped up and said that the K60’s are crap road tires and would never be able to carve turns, Etc.
I cracked up and posted a few pictures of my front and rear tire worn all the way past the edges. Heavily worn on the edges from dragging the pegs.
Classic case of “it’s the rider- not the tire”. I probably still have those old K60 photos. LOL.

R after the Ratio will indicate a radial. I think Bias simply omit the R. Radial example:

Continental Conti TKC 70 120/70R-19 60V
R after 70 indicates Radial, 60 load rating is 551lbs, V Speed rating is 149mph

Q speed rating on Shinkos is 99mph, Tires with a Q speed rating can safely sustain speeds of up to 99 miles per hour. The tire may be able to reach higher speeds, but going faster than 99 mph for any length of time is not safe. The tire is not designed to handle the stresses.
