Sorry about not posting a price, I will do some research and post it with a price. I checked valve clearance today and exhaust valves are tight, as soon as shims come in I will do a leak down test see if I got lucky. I will post results.

Welcome, from Texas. There's a guy on here that knows every inch of these bikes. Inside and out. His stage name is TABASCO if you need to send him a message for something.
Speaking of TABASCO, I'm a little confused here, because TABASCO replied an hour and a half after the original post that he'd take it and 24 hours later someone else has bought it?

I expect Trent contacted the seller by P/M and committed to buying it before anyone else did. You gotta be quick on the draw to grab deals like this!

Yeahhhhh . . . . there's a long story behind this one. Kinda confusing, definitely suspect. Hopefully all ends well for everybody.

This actually popped up on my Facebook marketplace and I jumped on it quickly. Only after I bought it I joined this forum and saw the listing. I definitely wasn't trying to buy out from under anybody.

A mate had a very similar story with a Tracer 900. Used as a work bike, always dealer serviced, but by 75k it was knackered and the dealer said it needed new head. His bosses scrapped it and bought him a vfr800, which got stolen soon after! At which point they altered his contract to buying his own bikes in future. He’s been on an R1200RS since.

Just curious what happened to this bike, any updates?
This seller was sketchy as hell, probably all a scam. The original guy would not talk to me over the phone. I told him I would take it, and head his way, the story would change and he would never commit or act normal in selling the bike. It was totally strange. Nothing ‘normal’ about any of it.
I’ve bought and sold many things. This was one million red flags from the word “for sale”. LOL
If anyone actually got this bike and didn’t get scammed, good on them. Glad I was not involved.

Well the guy said that he bought it, I saw it posted on Facebook a day or so before it was posted on here. The seller has been a member and posted on here for at least two years. I don't think it was a scam, I think it's likely that he had a lot of interest and was trying to juggle them all, hoping someone would just show up with money to get the bike.

Anyway, I just wanted to see if there was an update.

No doubt its a valve adjustment only... I've purchased a few used bikes neglected on valve adjustments.... Theyve all been hard starts and driveability issues due to valves tight way before damage and all have been nothing more than adjustments. The buyer got a heck of a deal on this one.

The buyer was a good guy, I think he just got a lot of interest and some people told him they were on the way to get it then he found out they weren't. I live 1-1/2 hours away and met him at his bank.
Brent, seems like everyone walked away happy. . My definition of a “Good Deal”
