I'm moving to a Gen II, so my well loved and well ridden '12 is for sale. Mechanically excellent, well maintained, but no garage queen. 109k miles, (current odo is 108,929). Oil/Filter changed every 5k miles with synthetic oil. Final Drive gear oil changed at every engine oil change with Synthetic 75/90 gear lube. Air filter and spark plugs changed more or less on schedule. One owner bike. Clean and clear title in hand. This is not your average 100k bike. Please continue reading below.

To comply with forum rules, here is a picture of the actual bike being sold. Much on the bike is being moved off or to the other bike, so please check out the lists below for more info. If you see some pearl in the pic, it's probably going to the new bike if it's not mentioned, but feel free to ask about it.

Bought new on 7/11/11 (PDP bike) with 48 mo Yamaha Extended Service, (YES), warranty that was to end 8/3/16 - (extended to 8/4/2018)

Fuel Pump O-Ring recall performed on 8/6/11

Headlight harness recall done 3/20/14

Full head re-build, new pistons, rings, cam timing chain, timing gear shaft 2, shaft tensioner, valve stem seals, (all), 2 new intake valves, many associated small parts, upgraded CCT, coolant , spark plugs, air filter and Gen II clutch hub done on 7/21/14 at 82k miles when the CCT failed during starting after an oil change.

Valve clearance check/adjust on 1-5-17 at 107,307 miles. Re-shimmed exhaust valves to bring more to middle of spec, were on tight end of spec.

Current OEM rear shock has ~60k and comes with heavier spring for 200+ lb riders/loads and original oem spring. No leaks.

Bike is fully farkled now, but many items will be transferred over to the new Gen II bike when it is purchased.

Included with the bike at the price listed, ($1970 cost to duplicate):

Heated Grips on Mounted Heat-Troller ($125)
BMW Grooved Sport Grips - ($20)
Powerlet BMW style Power Port direct to batter w/fuse, mounted on opposite side of oem cig outlet - ($20)
HealTech Speedo Healer V4 W/GIpro X-Type Gear Indicator - ($250)
Lucky Bike Mirror Extenders ($20)
Vista Cruise Throttle Lock ($20)
Tenere Man tank protector - ($30)
Rumbux Full Spec Endurance Protection Bars - (Upper Crash Bars, Lower Bash Frame & integrated Skid Plate) - ($800)
Rumbux Crash Bar Bags - ($100)
High Fender with stainless steel braid, (nylon cover), longer two brake line kit - Eliminates cross over. - ($200)
2013 Left side switch cluster with flash to pass function and CC switches - ($60)
Rostra electronic CC unit, partially installed to use oem swtich cluster, (I may, or may not find time to finish this install. Currently on bike, but not fully hooked up.) - ($200)
Separate hazard flasher wired to toggle switch. Always hot, no key needed to use. ($10)
Probably more that I'm forgetting right now.

OEM items that were removed the day the bike came home, or shortly after, that will be put back on, or go with, the bike:

Windscreen
Rear seat w/rear seat riser block
Heel guards
Passenger grab Handles
probably more I am forgetting now.

**Rider seat is currently a Russell Day Long. I'm keeping that and moving it to the new bike. The new bike's rider seat will go on the 2012 bike.

Lots of details and pics of this bike exist on this forum already if you search my posts. I've ben here a long time and am a known person. I'm not going away, just moving to a new to me Super Tenere. This is a great bike that I love to ride. We are changing lifestyles and will be living on the road for perhaps the next year. For this and other reasons, the Gen II is appealing to me. No other bike is even on the list due to my preference for Yamaha and shaft drive ADV bikes.

Wow - Screaming deal. For those who don't know Eric, this bike has spent most of it's existence in a dry climate and Eric takes care of his stuff.

When another member sold his 2012 with 130,000 he got in the high $4,000s from a dealer.

So with the becoming moto vagabonds, are you going to keep the Red Mountain or Missouri (iirc) home base?

Or should we all prepare to see you and your wife couch surfing as you come through to chase good weather?

The Red Mt home has sold, we close 5/5. The MS property has no structures, so we will have no home base until we can't handle the constant camping with hotels now and then. Not sure if now and then will be once a week, or more, or less. Less would be more budget friendly, but some of that depends on what kind of camping we are doing.

Bike is Sale Pending/Sold. Deposit made, just counting down until delivery day w/balance due. All the separate items for sale, with a FS post. Hindsight being what it is, I should have gone with a $4k price for the bike. :D Vegas Dealer offered me $4500 in trade in, but that didn't offset their too high price on the Gen II. My beautiful wife social networked her butt off and one of our friends pointed us to a bike at a local to them HD dealer that was a great price on a super low mile '15, bonus, still under original warranty. Still have a nice Smart Fortwo for sale. :-\

Re: 2012 Super Tenere - Black - $3500 - Sale Pending

I did NOT see this fast enough!!!

This is exactly how I end up with bikes in the barn. (and cars\trucks in the driveway)
Some deals I pull the trigger on and figure out later what I'm going to do with it. :)

Dang Eric. That's not just any bike!

Whoever you are out there that got this bike, you're gonna be perched on a machine that has delivered.

A well cared for 7.3 F350
A well cared for 5.9 Cummins
Eric's Tenere

Machines that are worth far more than their typical asking price.

Snake actually the new owner (not me) has a well cared for 5.9 Cummins diesel also.

You created TBDBITW acroynm. I similarily created TCSTITW for this bike. The Cheapest Super Tenere In The World.

He initially balked because of the miles but once I started pointing out all the obvious to him he was sold. Will be riding next month from Eric's place back to Texas. Fly and ride for him, ride and ride for me.

Re: 2012 Super Tenere - Black - $3500 - Sale Pending

Im the one that`s getting the bike . I got the email from bullet around 11:30 pm central time saying " if your snoozing your loosing" LOL. I met a few members on this board when I rode with Bullet and Roosterman to the Hub in Dogpatch Arkansas , great group of guys. I`ve been wanting a Tenere really bad after that and I am really excited to be finally getting one. I put about 45k miles on my 05 V -strom in about 13 years . Im hoping to put quite a bit more miles on this bike in a shorter time.

Re: 2012 Super Tenere - Black - $3500 - Sale Pending

Thanks for the positive posts everyone. I have the deposit in hand, so the bike is sold, barring unforeseen events that life sometimes throws at us. I'm actively looking for the Gen II, but my plate is overflowing with stuff to do with the clock ticking down on vacating the house. Finding the time to do the deal, then probably a fly and ride myself to get it, is challenging.

Part of me is going thru seller's remorse too! ;D A lot of good memories with this bike and it will be sad to see it roll out of the garage with the new owner.

Congrats on the sale Ericv, hope you find a Gen2 soon, just to get over sellers remorse of course ::012::
Good luck with the move, always a stressful time. And congrats to the new owner, just another to join the fraternity of 'sensible shoes' riders ::025::

I'm pretty sure I met you at the Hub in Arkansas. I have NO remorse in the slow trigger now. lol
You were already welcomed "in" back then, I suspect. But welcome ALL THE WAY in now. :)

Good job Silverbullet! That's exactly what I would have ended up doing likely anyways.
I just didn't want some yahoo (that we will never know or hear from) getting that legend without knowing what he got.
Much better a Yahoo we DO know. (meant with great fellow Texan respect, of course)

And Eric, You SHOULD have sellers remorse, even though you have done a gracious thing. (in my opinion)
It's the good kind of remorse though. The best kind. I predict you'll prosper from it.

Re: 2012 Super Tenere - Black - $3500 - Sale Pending

Just bought a used 2015 Std with 2078 miles on it and original 12 month warranty until 8/17. (I checked with Yamaha on the VIN myself.) Will add 48 Mo YES thru D&H once the existing warranty is transferred to me. FWIW, D&H only had a new ES model, (great price too), but more $ than I wanted to spend. The next closest bike that I looked at, when you factored in shipping/taxes/fly-n-rid/fees, ended up being $14k OTD from my local dealer. Price in the link was the OTD price and no sales tax in OR, but I'll have to pay it in UT when I register it here.

Like jmz, my flight is booked, (4/6), and I'll ride it back. I know peeps in P-town, so may hang out for the afternoon before riding home the next day. 2nd bike I've done fly-n-ride from Portland on. :D

Lots to do!

Nice looking bike but I was hoping you would score me a Corbin seat :p

Signatures? We don't need no stinking signatures!

Congrats to jmz - Glad to see the bike went to another Stop owner. You came within a whisker of losing the buy to my son, who would also have been selling his 2003 Strom.

Congrats also to Eric. On selling the house, buying the new property, selling the bike, and buying the new one. No moss grows around you!
Really glad that we aren't losing you here.

Re: 2012 Super Tenere - Black - $3500 - Sale Pending

The clock is ticking loudly in this house! So much to do and so little time to do it in. After I pick up the bike, I have about a week to farkle before we ride over to CA for some Rawhyde training. Good thing I saved a set of Rumbux bars for myself!!

Now I can start de-farkling the '12, after I install some Rumbux on the wife's GSA. Probably ought to clean it some too... ::013:: jmz might notice the contrast between the one day take off parts and the 109k dirty parts when I put it back together.

That red bike is going to get the red panels wrapped. I'm not a fan. Yellow would have been worse, but no luck on finding the right price for a black or desert tan bike.

Found a really nice 217 mile '15 in the silver/blue paint scheme on the Denver CL, but no warranty and a bit more money at $12,200. Sweet bike with extra gear for someone though. That bike is in Granbury, TX and real. I had some back and forth with the owner.
