Motorcycling and motorcycles have been my only passion. Street or dirt. I would say though if i lived where there were lots of snow and even though i have never ridden a snow mobile i know that would be a passion. That just looks so fun!

Motorcycles have been there since I built the first Briggs-powered bicycle with my Dad when I was less than 10. Flying took over when I was 13 and was a passion for a long time till airplanes became just something that I worked with, day in and out, then it was back to motorcycles. Picked up too many projects since retiring, what with a sailboat, Ford Transit van, house to work on, and lately putting a lot of time into my new business. I'm committed to riding more as things thaw.

I traveled a LOT for work and missed much of when my own kids were little, so my other "hobby" since early last summer has been doing Grand Daddy Day Care for my beautiful little lady. Part of it was COVID closing daycare, but it's a labor of love.

Hard to believe she is standing already!

I have so many hobbies, sometime I forget some of them.

Since 2002 when I made my very first edited video for my daughter's school assignment ( Preflight an airplane ), I've been hooked on making videos when I have something worthwhile. It's easy to lose yourself in the process. Usually takes about an hour per minute of produced video. It's fun to experiment with different styles. Some come out better than others, but overall my skills have improved over the years. My most popular video as of late is the Alaska ride DM and I did in 2017. A lot of people seem have expressed their appreciation for that one.

While I have multiple youtube channels, I'm trying out Rumble as an alternative. No impresssion of it yet.

I enjoyed your Alaska ride video. Been there, done that (but rode Dempster rather than Dalton) and itching to do it again. That was the plan for 2020 but Covid squashed it.
Thanks, yes wasn't sure how far up the Dempster we'd go. The weather made the decision pretty easy for us.

All our major ride plans for 2020 got squashed by covid. Not sure how many years it could take us to get back to some of those plans.

It has always been motorcycles for me. I have other interests too like fishing, boating, some hunting, off road vehicles, muscle cars, and camping. I cut back on the fishing and gave up golf because they were cutting into my motorcycle time. I would be out fishing and find myself thinking about motorcycles. My main passion now is helping my wife babysit for our 2 grandchildren 3 or 4 days a week.

I grew up flying rotary wing aircraft. It was my Dads love. The expenses, maintenance and government regs made it not so attractive.

Ive lived about 5 different lives already. Once upon a time I was a 'competitive' cyclist. I did this 24/7 for ten years. Here is a photo of me racing Lance Armstrong after he just returned from the first tour win. I had the opportunity to ride with him several times and his team down in South Texas and Colorado (way back when). In the photo I am (#11) he is next to me with the white helmet and blue bike. #20-#22-#25???

(My mom still has the black and white newspaper photo of this race of Lance and I. After this photo was taken we race down a long straight away and then off into the trees. Just at that moment the news paper guy snapped "Lance's" photo. It was only he and I in the picture right next to each other (going into the trees first). Everyone one in the world knows who Lance was, but the news paper guy needed to ask my name and a little about me. No one knew anything about my dumb A$$. LOL Its about a 10" X 10" photo... Funny looking back at it. Its kind of cool, it was only he and I in the photo )

Now I just do a lot of this........ (this is not me, just a stock photo)... when I'm running no one is taking my picture... LOL
I run on the road, and trails just like this....

Lance had better drugs!

I am in awe of people like you. I would love to be able to run, bike, swim for hours but my body is built for high intensity, low duration. A friend of mine is forever doing the Nice triathlon and other stuff. Just amazing. Keep at it fella!

Low percentage query but, you may have seen a DVD series for the US market (Spike Productions?) that a friend (RIP) of mine did about the lighthouses of Ireland. A lot of the shots were done from a helicopter and, in his words, "I lost count of the times we stalled on the static panning shots". The guy who flew the heli was an ex Viet - a real character - "Put on your lifejacket"......."do I need to?".... "well, when they find your body they'll know I've done my part.." and "XYZ!@# ready for takeoff" .....''ok XYZ!@#. Please hold. What is your altitude?" (not sure of the regulatory speak, so please change) "Sea level....." and flew the fuck off lolololol. Classic!!

Seems like I don't have time for too many hobbies these days. Caregiving Sylvia is the main one. She's blind and deaf now so more attention needs to be paid. She's pretty easy to care for though and at 4 lbs, easy to take anywhere.
Since I'm retired and the wife runs her business, I'm the homemaker, which is cool as I like to cook. So all the meal planning, etc, goes thru me.
At some point I'll start another hobby, but for right now, I'm good.

Horse, being in the mountains, even sitting on a log. All long time hobbies. ;)
Some of the things I miss from New Hampshire/Maine. We'd ride the FJ up into the mountains, and picnic at one of the gazillion roadside places. I don't ride horses so much anymore. . . . I feel sorry for the horse with me on top of them.
