It’s my job, but it's supposed that when you put “passion” to work, things turn out better
It all starts with 3 tons of seed per hectare. At 10 days they look more or less like this

After taking care of them and giving them the fertilizers, fungicides and insecticides, if you put your hands in after 100 days, things would look more or less like this (about 35 tons)

And if you keep taking care of them until 140/150 days, things would look more or less like this (60-70 tons)

And this has been repeated, year after year in our family for the last 110 years, from generation to generation. My father wanted me to become an accountant. And so I did, I'm an accountant ... but I'm more passionate about "potatoes":):)

Philippines has the world's largest rice seed bank (maybe China and/or Gate's Svalbard has superseeded (sic) it now) https://www.irri.org/where-we-work/countries/philippines

Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.
I know it's a bubble that will burst at any moment, but a few years ago, I needed to buy a tractor that cost me u$ 100,000. My youngest son tells me:
- why don't you buy bitcoins instead of the tractor? they cost u$s1, so it is enough for you for 100,000 bitcoins ... I answered that these virtual things "today they are and tomorrow they will disappear" ... and I bought the tractor ....
last week, I read in the newspaper that the value of the bitcoin was u$s 50,000 .... then while I was shaving, I looked in the mirror and I already saw an asshole face......
when I got to the rural property, I opened the gates of the barn where I keep the tractors and there it is. ... the tractor that cost me 100,000 bitcoins ... that tractor is like a kind of medal of honor to the "biggest asshole in the universe":):)

My guilty secret is racing 1/32 scale slot cars. There! I’ve said it!
My first memory of racing cars was my dad's business partner bringing his Scalextric set over. It was a figure of 8 with a chicane, finger trigger speed controls and the two cars were a Vanwall and "sharknose" Ferrari.

Great fun was by the lads....He had two daughters. :D

Ooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh yes ..... that would be be very close to taking over my life if I had that ..... so lovely! You must be very proud.
I have loved them all my life, from being a kid. First time me and my wife took a trip to LA for a road trip around California we booked one for rent ... I was gutted when we got to the rental depot to discover that we were allocated a Chevrole Camero ... really nice to be fair but was a dream breaker!

Loved mountain biking from the age of about 20 ... wasn't so main stream back then and we just wanted to emulate the 'cool dudes' from Marin and ripping it up on steel bikes. I am 61 now and still get out on the odd occasion but pretty much finished now, probably spent as much on MTB's as motor bikes over the years, way toooooo much. I have ridden a few of the French trails i.e. Les Gets, Morzein etc but abiout 5 years ago I finally managed to get to Sedona in the States and rode some amazing trails around there, it was everything I hoped it would be.WP_20180826_11_03_20_Pro.jpg

Mountain biking at 61 is pretty impressive, your body just doesn't bounce back the same. The risk is far higher then a pedaling the tarmac.
