Did it add a lot of weight if so how would you recomend compensating for it?~TABASCO~ said:I like mine, I've enjoyed it!
Ebay has one for $349 plus $35 shippingecho_four_romeo said:I have a RUMBUX and love it. I always thought the ACD was a gorgeous piece of work. Comes from Spain if I remember correctly, wonder what the shipping would cost on something like that? Tabasco's plate is one tough piece of kit as well. All comes down to personal preference.
I looked at it before it looks heavy but I do like it.Rustykfd said:Looks like a unique design......Rumbux is a proven design.
It's does have make an offer in the post. If ACD is third then what would be your top two and why?tomatocity said:IMO... the ACD is third best in protection though you shouldn't need more protection than the ACD offers. There is a lot written about the ACD so do a search and read. eBay used to have a "Make An Offer" where $299-300 is usually accepted. Also, you don't need to buy additional protection plates like you do with other skid plates.

Rumbux... built in South Africa, distributed through Canada
Both are Built to the Hilt.
Have you seen the video I posted the other day? On the UT BDR, we had to patch 2 oil pans in one day. Making the right choice is important if you plan to ride off road. Stay away from ST Motech.greg the pole said:Unless you are using your tenere to rock crawl, any plate will do nicely.
I removed my alt rider plate, as it was getting beat up too much. The acd plate is excellent, especially after I threaded studs into the motor, to easy alignment.
The entire plate needs to come off for oil changes. Roughly 6 bolts.
Weight and protection wise, to me this is the best compromise.
From what I read the Hammer People had aftermarket exhaust which did not fit the same as OEM exhaust.Bushyar15 said:When I was looking at buying skid plate a couple months ago, I looked at all the available skid plates including ACD. This is the info I found about some of the skid plates searching the forum.
ACD seems to be a good idea/design. But it seems their quality control is/was spotty. Some people had zero issues installing, other said they had to take a hammer to it to get it to fit. I wasn't about to spend 350 and have to do work or have a hard time sending it back. Don't know if the quality issues have been resolved.
I went with the alt rider as it seemed to offer the protection I was looking for at a good price point...
Dammit man! its too early to go and take pictures in the garage.... Yes lots of clearance between the motor and skid plate. it is very tight around the cat. converter though.jcoop4355 said:So the ACD bolts to the frame. Does the ACD plate touch or is there a small space between the between the foam and the engine.
