That is the Aerostich Motofizz bag.
"made by motorcyclists for motorcyclists" lol

Seriously, I might have future adventure bikes with different panniers or different racks or different crash bars, etc. But I think I will ALWAYS have this bag.

I stated elsewhere that I don't remember which other forum member suggested it to me. But I will be forever grateful. :)

I bought my Motofizz in 2006 and it still looks new. I'm very impressed with how durable and versatile it is. The one drawback I've noticed is that it's not waterproof. The provided rain cover does a decent job of protecting the upper half, but water that is thrown upward from the road will seep through the bottom, if the bag isn't sitting on a surface that covers the entire bottom side. Nothing that you can't avoid with some pre--planning. My wife always wondered were all the plastic bags went whenever I went touring on my little D-tracker :))

It appears that the lids on the Muffintops' just come off and are not hinged? They do look nice and the price point is really low.

Correct.

I think Wendells' price is so low because he has essentially no overhead costs. He and his assistants are a small shop.

I use heavy cloth grocery bags to compartmentalize what goes in and to make it easy to take my clothes into a hotel or tent. The Muffintops have been through LOTS of rain and I've yet to find a drop of water in either one.

I've had a parking lot tip over onto the bag in the photo (right side) in one of those sloped situations where the wheels ended up high. I also whacked a steel post near a gas pump. You'd have to look REAL hard to find it on the bags. No metal damage, just a couple of knicks in the paint that will be easy touch up.

I can't imagine tearing one of these or one breaking.

Not super sexy like many others.
But built very sturdy and no nonsense.
Great value, in my opinion.

Which racks are those? They appear to be symmetrical in this pic.

What kind of panniers are those on your bike?
Those are Happy-Trail bags. They look like the 9" Clif-Cut Tetons.

Listen to Stevepsd.

He is exactly right. He doesn't miss much. :)
Happy Trails racks too.
Symmetrical is correct. But not the prettiest things if you remove the panniers.
(I don't)
Lot's of space to mount cool stuff "inside" the rack on right side. Tools, fuel cell, anything you can attach cleverly. Happy Trails has a few ideas themselves.

So Tenerator12,
If you are the one I first heard about it from, Thanks!

Yea, not 100% waterproof. But I actually stuff all the keep-dry stuff in an OverBoard dry bag and then simply slide it into the MotoFizz. My wife LOVES the dirty clothes hamper under the flap. Seems she don't like mixing my dirty socks with her clean clothes during the trips. We also keep the binoculars in one of the clever detachable side compartments. She is a bird watcher and she can both find and access them quickly while we are on the road or at a campsite.

The whole thing mounts fantastically on the Altrider tail rack and serves as a perfect backrest for her.

This S10 setup is the FIRST that ever succeeded at getting my wife to join me for more than just a Saturday jaunt. Now she will go anywhere with me. I've never had more fun!

Few days ago, i went to the GIVI importer to figure out with which combo GIVI Trekker's i wanna go.

"suggested" 33-46 lit combo... Imo, disaster.

As i was travelling with gixxer (two up), 33-33 lit combo it's gonna be more than enough space pn the sides. Looks much better than the previous combo, doesen't it!?

Then i tried the 46lit Trekker to replace my Kapa 53 lit...

...but ther was not enough space to fit two flip up helmets...

...so i kept my Kappa and replaced the lock on it, to have one key for all of them.

it seems there is sort of an interference between the GIVI bottom cross bar connecting frame to frame and that exhaust gas. Especially with that aftermarket pipe. Basically, does the exhaust gas hit the cross bar???

Rack Mounting - Muffler side

Are there any racks that do NOT use the passenger peg on the muffler side?

I have the passenger pegs remved and also the muffler guard.
I'd like to find a rack that does not use the passenger peg mount.

I think it shold be possible to fabricate something that uses alternate locations to provide a forard support for the rack.

Can someone confirm that the stock Yamaha panniers and racks to NOT use the passenger peg as support for their rack?

Not sure I asked. :)

That quote wasn't me. No worries though.

Thanks to a post by "cosmic", I saved myself the embarrassing lopsided 33/46 "suggestion" by Givi and went straight for the 33/33 and a 52L topcase! That pic you had was dreadful...I can't imagine when they thought that looked good and the slight asymmetry of the dual 33L sidecase setup was somehow worse than their "suggestion"

Anyhow, here it is...

i went with the jesse racks on the tightest mount. made my first box. i was gonna go wider but figured an 8" wide pannier fits inside my rumbux crash bars. and well within my handlebar width. now that i have one made and mounted i can really see how i want to procede. im thinking i can add at least 2 inches to the height.

Im thinking about getting a s.t. and if I do, I'll probably get the Muffin top Mt1-11 and mt-tb. I'd like to see some pics of them in black mounted in the bike. Thanks for all the great info on this forum.
