And apparantly not easy for us in the US to source?

Diapason got back to me and directed me to MotoShop Italia. I gave up after many emails. The nylon/plastic hinges seemed suspect but never got a chance to check the price and availability.

That is the most frustrating part of dealing with Motoshop, the communication (or lack of). I don't know if their receptionist is overworked or what exactly the case is, but she seems to answer emails whenever she feels like it...which sometimes is never. Could it be a language barrier?..possibly. I paid for the cases on February 14th and it took 50 days just for the cases to reach the states, mainly because the first set was lost somewhere in Italy and Motoshop had to verify 'lost' status for insurance purposes before sending another set..but reception never told me that. I finally had to phone Mr. Tosco directly to find out that the Italian courier 'Bartolini had lost the first set of bags. Reception stopped answering my emails prior to that, after saying they where working on 'expediting' the shipment.

If my shipment hadn't been lost, I calculate that the cases would have reached the states in about 15 days from ordering them, which isn't all that bad.

Another thing I can tell you is although these cases use the OEM mounts, they aren't easy on/off like the Yamaha cases. Once you hang them on the mounts, there are three M8x35mm bolts that thread through a solid steel square bar, which inserts under the upper stays on each side. Once that is done, you bolt the cross bar in place. The whole process doesn't take too awefully long, but it's far cry from just inserting a key and turning a lever.

Second guy from the left. I want HIS driving lights and the position sure shows the better conspicuity of spreading them out!

Then of course, there's the totally factory stock yellow Tenere color.... ;)

I saw a yellow (apparently not painted but plastic wrapped) Supertenere at the Touratech event on Wales a couple of weeks ago. It is part of a TV show; Motorbike Diaries-Dakar Dreams to be shown in Uk later this year

He's just running some spots that are aimed too high. Dork boy is pissing off every rider in front of him too. And when he falls over, those lights just became disposable since they are mounted to the outside of the crash bar.

Buy some cheap lights and play with them if that's what you want. Mostly what you're seeing is his lights aimed high.

Conspicuity is over rated, IMHO. I know they are all trying to kill me, so I really don't care if they see me or not, I see them. Even if they see me, I still assume they are trying to kill me and ride accordingly.

Although the only off road my bike sees is my driveway :)) I use my S10 to hack of sports bikes in the highlands ::26::

After breaking an OEM case off on the trail, mounting Trax Evos (with terribly engineered SWMotech racks) that looked completely goofy and almost homemade; I ended up mounting Pelican 1430s with modified Wolfman racks. I spaced the non-exhaust side rack outward to even up the case to make everything symmetrical. I'm still trying to decide if I should keep the Pelicans or go back to OEM cases and worry about another case flopping off on the trail somewhere.

So outside of the S10 giving the Audi a run for overall width the cases look great; just a question, how do you manage offroad with a bike that wide?

Here you are some pictures with my ST with Motoshop pannier (the same that Tenerator show us).

In one of the pictures I show you that the width is 98 cm (38.58 inches) , in Italy the law admit 100 cm, and with the touratech , trax and others you're out of law, cause they're not tailored on our original mount of the ST

Just for info... the S10 SWMotech QuikLock racks that Twisted Throttle are selling as of 6 weeks ago still have terrible alignment problems. So bad that I removed them and opted for another solution.; the alignment makes the beautiful Trax Evo cases look like a homemade setup.

TThrottle's customer service refused to accept the racks or the Trax Evo cases on return claiming they had been installed and wouldn't take them back after setting them on the bike. Talking with the customer service employee..they are fully aware of the alignment problems but continue to sell a sub-par product. Shame to them, that is not the right way to do business these days.

Oh well, one less customer for Twisted Throttle...

I ended up using Pelican 1430s on modified Wolfman racks, the setup is very durable but kinda small. I'm kicking around the idea of going back to OEM cases. I broke one of the OEM cases clean off the bike on its first off road trip the first time the rear suspension bottomed out. (it was a rough unintentional hit, but the case should have been able to take it but simply broke and fell off)

I bent/twisted all mounts and ended up cutting 1/2" out of the upper front leg on left rack to make it tighter to the muffler. The angle of the pannier looking at it from the side was different from left to right, so tried to make the two racks align better. I understand SW-Motech has since modified their racks.

37-1/4", that is the black plastic ribs which standout some from the actual pannier.

I'm the other guy with these cases. I suppose it all depends upon intended use. Davide Biga put them through some punishment on his RTW ride, but I doubt there was much knarley single track. I really don't get why people keep harping about the width. They are 52 liters per side, but overall width is still narrower than the handlebars because they use the OEM mounts. I challenge anyone to find a better width to capacity ratio. There are forum members with the 10" Micatechs, which are WIDER and have less capacity. If you've already figured out that you don't want something that wide, then why bother posting?
