Hi thanks, that is good advise. ::008::Blue_eyes said:The easiest way is to remove the stock headers and install Arrow headers... Can't go wrong with these and you still have the stock ones undamaged (the stock ones are expen$ive!).

For 2012 it probably isn't an issue for anybody. But rumor has it that 2013 bikes will have to pass a smog check here in Kalifornia. Whether that's just a visual, where yours would pass a visual, or if they plan on sniffing things.Z06 said:Gutted mine and you can't tell it was done. You do need the tools to cut open pipe and weld back together. What difference does expensive make if your not going to use them?
Now that could make a difference. Of course this mod is for off road use only.Don in Lodi said:For 2012 it probably isn't an issue for anybody. +1. Space is at a premium where I'm at, but you can bet I'm keeping all of the stock parts...might even keep a stock ECU on hand. Life was simpler when I just had the D-tracker for awhile, because 250cc and below don't go through road-worthiness inspections and smog checks. My displacement was closer to 350cc and I had every performance mod under the sun, so putting it back to stock form would have been a tall order. >Blue_eyes said:And also if you ever wanted to sell the bike or trade-in, it is always good to have the stock parts. Some dealers/end-users prefer to get a stock bike instead of a pimped bike. That way you can always put the stock parts back-on and sell the aftermarket parts yourself and make some extra money.
I understand the arrow headers work with the stock can in the same way the arrow can works with the stock headers.Mzee said:If you put those arrow headers then it means the tail is not stock anymore but also arrow. In other words are they compatible?
What apart from all the folks that have fitted Arrow headers and provided before and after power curves (like myself)Big Blu said:Not worth the effort unless someone can document the advantage.
I had the Arrow header but sold it quickly. You'll need a PVC/ Auto tune to get the bike to run properly after the change. An expensive and slippery slop and no concrete evidence to document the improvements.
