Once again, thanks so much to all of you for your kind words and wishes. I'm a little overwhelmed and very much humbled.

I'm feeling much better. Got on the walker/stepper today for 15 minutes, did some squats, and finished off with some curls. Still can't do sit-ups as my ribs are very sore yet.

HoebSTer: No pics taken and I don't remember much of anything. I woke up on the ground, and the ambulance hauled me away. I'm told I was very entertaining, but I don't REMember any of it.

snakebitten: what an incredibly kind thing to say. I hope your sentiments are accurate
.

My wife has adopted the philosophy of the late, great W. C. Fields: "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again; then quit, no use making a damn fool of yourself".

She says I have a few more tries left in me. Thank you again. R ::008:: ::001::

Glad you are back on the mend, sorry to read of your off. ::012::

I go through bikes like some people change underwear, I would use this as an excuse to try another, Tiger 800xc maybe, but that is just me. ::013::

Hope I can still tell all my riding friends they can stop at your place on the way up to Alaska, whether you get another bike or not. ::001::

Yo, Tiger, good to hear from you. Regarding your riding friends, you damn right. They'd better ..... .. I'll be back on a Tenere again, either the old one or a new one, as soon as possible. R ::016::

You're an inspiration. Good mending to you. Keep up on some physical thereapy/gym work. You'll be stronger than before D-Day (divot day). On the age distribution thread, there were a scant few of us in the over 60 group. One year behind you, but I truly feel younger on my Blue S10.

Sorry to hear of your of your misfortune.

When your feeling better, I hope you once again put pen to paper (or is it keyboard to screen?) and entertain us with your prose.

Best wishes!

Been wondering when this thread was going to show up............ it's hard to keep a secret. ::024::

Rem, as we talked a couple weeks ago, I can relate to much of what you are going through right now. You are bruised, but not broken - that's what counts.

But look at this on the bright side as you work to repair your broken Tenere: You can finally have the BLUE bike like you wanted all along!!

Glad you are OK Rem. Tell Ron to stop meat gazing in the middle of rides. The blue ones are not only faster; they have better brakes as well!

Thank you, and thanks again to all of you. I can't respond to all of you individually, but I have read every one of your comments, and I appreciate them very much.

I'm doing really well. I'm on the walker/stepper every day now for about 15 minutes, doing some really light weight squats, few other upper body stuff, and today I was able to do 5 sit ups. My right ribs are still very tender, but much better today. I figure by the weekend I'll be back at them full bore. Still a sore knee and shoulder and ribs and such, but feeling much better. Pretty much pain free unless I whack the spot in question. I'll be back up to my full 70% in no time. Thanks again. A new grey 2013 Tenere is on order. Not sure how I'm gonna pay for it yet, but no point in sweating the small stuff. R ::008:: ::008::

Great that you're improving - it takes time for us oldies. Looking forward to seeing the new bike sometime - I'm jealous about the new bike but not sure about the deposit you've already paid physically.

Glad to here you're on the mend. Maybe the gray stealth model would help keep you out of trouble next riding season.

That grey is most striking in pictures - I'll bet in person it's more so. Enjoy!

I certainly plan to, once I am able to come to terms with how hard my wife will have to work in order to afford it. I'll have to struggle with that.

Glad to hear things are falling back into place and a hearty congrats on the decision to get another Tenere - and a great color choice!!

As for the money - perhaps you and Rita could go into the fork-gator business. I know of at least one person that would purchase one of your products!!!

It's a sad day for Wade, he was looking forward to that one. Then again, the dealership route makes the most sense, think of the GST money you will save ::014:: ::014:: ::014::
