Yeah, I had a good one on our next to the last day of a two week soiree down into southern B. C. Awesome trip until Ron had to brake for some sheep in the road and I clipped his pannier. I don't remember the event, or why I was distracted, but Ron is fine ..... never even went down, thank goodness. I was ambulanced to Ft. Nelson where I was pronounced extremely bent and bruised, but not broken.

That was two weeks ago and I'm just now able to move about mostly pain free. Bike is semi-toast, but fixable. I'm just trying to decide what to do ... repair or replace. $$ is at issue, so unless I can sell my Honda soon, I'll likely go for the fix. I've just been taking it easy and healing up. It really knocked the snot out of me. I consider myself lucky to have lived through that one.

Thanks for the concern. Looks like I'll live to ride again in the spring. Salvaged most of my gear, but lost my riding jacket (they had to cut it off me) and I won't use the helmet again. The bike was not insured. Hard cheese. Oh well, could have been worse. I'll keep you posted as things progress. I was actually out doing some light yard work today. I'm developing some nice colour in the bruises along my right thigh, butt, back, shoulder, ribs, elbows ..... pretty much everything between my hips and my neck took a hit.

You don't want to do this to yourself too often, especially when you're 66. I'll be back to my usual 70% in no time. Thanks again. R ::010::

Glad you are OK Rem.

How about you make a list of parts you need and post um. Put the bird dogs out for them. Heck..some of us may have some of the parts you need and they are just taking up space and collecting dust in our garage.

Or we could just send money............ :D

Glad you're OK. Bikes can be replaced.

I like the idea of posting a list of parts you need. I might have something and would love to help out.

Thanks very much for your kind wishes. They are truly appreciated. I'm doing ok, getting a bit better every day now. It still hurts to sneeze and fart, but that should abate soon.

Regarding a parts list, that is a most thoughtful and generous gesture. It is at Yamaha now, and they have assessed it. It looks like it can become functional again, and if I go that route, I'll let them do it. My mechanical aptitude is about the same as my aptitude for quantum physics. I'm just not sure what I'm going to do yet. I'd prefer to sell the "charred remains" and my Honda, and just buy a new Tenere. I have all winter to decide, so I'll focus on that. I need some time to ponder it.

Anyway, thanks again for your thoughts. It gives me a warm, glowing feeling all over .... uh oh .... better go change my pants. R ::020::

Sorry about your spill - thankfully, it sounds like you're on the mend. The only thing I've removed from my bike is the stock windscreen, but damn man - you're welcome to it - if it helps get you and your Tenere get back on the road. It's just a PM away, hell, it'll be one less thing hanging in the garage for the wife to complain about ::)

My wife is of the opinion that I am indeed returning to "normal" ..... whether this is a good thing or not remains to be seen.

It would appear that my smartass, cranky ol' sumbich demeanor is inversely proportional to the level of pain I am experiencing.

< pain = > smartass

Ergo, as I get better, it appears I get worse. Thank you again for the warm fuzzies. My wife is due home soon, so I'll work on feigning more pain that is actually there. I might as well milk this sucker ..... R

ps - creggur .. a most generous offer. I still have my original as well. Thank you kindly for the gesture.

Remains to be seen, eh?

Did your wife Remonstrate with you, did she suggest Remedial training perhaps, tell you to Remember to be more careful, or maybe she just offered alternative Remedies?? Just wondering.

Can't imagine how much effort it's going to be for the road maintenance crew to replace the divot in the road left behind by Rem's behind!!!!

Man, I'm feeling a limerick startin' to percolate any time soon.....
