Those splash guards are quite effective, very European.

Progress on the splash guard has been slow but there has been a little. It seems that whenever I start a project like this, I often end up changing the design of the part I am trying to make as I go along. This time I changed my mind for what the support arm should look like so I scrapped the original and decided to make a different one.
At least the dash panel is done. I like the way it turned out.

It's funny how often these projects seem like they'll be pretty straightforward and relatively easy until you get started. This has turned out to be a surprisingly difficult one to pull off, but I finally feel like I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Once the epoxy sets up and the arm is attached to the mounting bracket, I'm on to adding the cosmetic layers of CF and doing the finishing cosmetic work.

Well it took forever, but I am finally finished with the splash guard. It didn't turn out quite as planned. I had hoped to clear coat the carbon but that didn't work out so I just painted it. I don't think it looks too bad this way. Maybe I'll put a Yamaha sticker on it to jazz it up a little?

Very impressive craftsmanship. I do a bit on my bike - but that's way more impressive!

Very nicely done with the single mounting point and the blending of the supports into the splash guard.

My favorite part of your "splash guard" is the simple fact you had a vision for something that does not exist and you saw it through.

It didn't have to be "easy" for you.

The fellas on this forum that have that kind of approach to building the Tenere into the bike they want it to be, inspire me.
I don't have any of the skills they have. But I am often driven by the same desire.
They build it.
I have to hire it. lol

But we get a horse to ride setup just the way we like it.

Looks awesome Jack! Go for the sticker it will tie it in perfectly.
::026:: But try to get a BMW rondal, that will confuse the f*** out of the GS riders when they see it and wonder why their's are mounted on the left.....

Really nice stuff! So, for the dash panel, I thought a carbon blank that is 6x6 or whatever would be available?

Also, remember to wear a dust mask when cutting CF, very nasty stuff.
