Nice!!!!

Any idea of where to source the dimming module necessary to implement the low/high beam (50%/100%) switching?

Clem, looks like you did it again! Sounds like a good deal. I have tried to find the specs on the dimming switch and come up empty.
Can you find that? Maybe a pic. Also it looks like free shipping!

Hey Clem, just so you know the prices you are posting are not a 30% discount. They're about 22% off. Maybe it's 30% off of some inflated retail price?

Ok maybe my math needs help! I am in the process of moving, everything here is a jumble including my brains. I will try to find info on the dimmer.

The link does not say much about the dimmer. What size, is it water proof, ect.?
I think a three position switch, would work for me. Off, 50%, 100%. Just don't know how to make it. :)

I don't know an awful lot about electronics, I know less about dimmers. I am going to run the prime system full strength. I am running them low anyhow, just to be seen. I will see if I can get more info.

By the time you add the components that are included with the kit from Twisted Throttle, how does all this price out?

If you get buy the dimmer and other bits, TT is even or less. If you buy just the lights, Vision X is cheaper.

I thought TT had it advertised at $350 for the prime. Vision prime with dimmer less than 300 shipped.

kit 1: 2"X Solstice Solo Prime Black 10-Watt LED 20° Narrow Beam $211.00 (normally 268.00)

kit 2: 2x solo prime lights with wiring harness shipped to cont us $256.00 (normally 328.00)

motocephalic, any reason you picked the 20 degree beam spread for the group buy. I note they come in a range from 10 to 45/10? Curious as I do not know a lot about what the actual real world translation is on "how bright". I assume the narrow beams concentrates more light further away, but if you really want to light up a dark road, or more specfically a dark dirt road do you want short and wide?

You are right, it is a compromise, to give more time to react. I primarily am looking for lights to help ME BE SEEN. Most of my riding is in the urban jungle unfortunately, and 20 deg is a good compromise. Maybe other packages will be better for specific applications.

Hey moto,
Just found this. Thanks for putting it together.

In looking over the lights available in your link, I don't see package 1 listed as you described it. If I go by your price point, I'm guessing that kit 1 does not contain the solo prime lights (round ones), but contains the original solstice solo 2" square, non-dimmable LED lights. Also, those don't come in a 20degree spread. Only 10, 15, 35, and the elliptical 15high/45wide. Can you please clarify which light (round or square) and spread pattern is included with kit 1? Having our choice of beam spread would be ideal, but honestly, if I do this, I'll be going with kit 2 and the dimmable, prime lights anyway.

Kit 2 looks like the 20 degree prime lights (round ones), so no questions there.

I really like the prime's compatibility with a PWM (Pulse Width Modulator) to dim them. I see no reason to purchase and dialable PWM for my needs. I'm sure a fixed PWM can be sourced. I'll be looking for one that gives about 40-50% brightness. I'll wire them so I'll be at the fixed dim brightness when I'm on low beam and then 100% brightness when on high beam. Then no reason to mess around with two switches on a day-to-day use perspective. Just the high/low beam switch will do it all. I might consider wiring in an on-off switch so I have the option of turning them completely off, but they draw so little, I can't imagine a time when I would need to do that.

@Chad, it sounds like you know a bit about the dimmers needed for the lights. I know nothing, zip, but can wire up the mess when I get it. When you find a fixed pwm would you post it please. I just want to put mine on a hi, lo, off switch, if that is possible.
