One more question: I do have a vertical 1'' riser installed. Do you think I will need new break lines? How tight are they in your current setup without risers?
they are just fine without risers. But i think the brake lines may be tight with your risers on. The bars are taller then the factory, so you may not need them. Just try and see. And if you need the risers, just call up tabasco. His lines are perfect for the fix. But i am 6' 2" and didnt need risers.

Does the flexx bar stop all the vibration ?
well,i will say my hands havent went numb in the 100 miles ive put on them. And for me thats very unusual. So i would say its stops enough, if not all. But off road they suck up more of the bumps. And thats nice on the wrists!

Do they get in the way for the ignition key?
Where is the group buy for these handle bars? :) ::017::

Since they just came out with them,I think that fasstco.com is the only place to have them. That's where I ordered mine. They are $349.99 which is higher then a standard tapered bar, but these aren't your standard bar. They are fuctional for the S10 in alot of ways. They not only help stop road vibration and make the off road bumps softer. But they get rid of the massive back sweep of the factory bars. And give the bars a bit of a rise from the factory that most are trying achieve with risers. Not to mention they are made in the U.S.A in my proud home state of Utah! Either way you justify the dough, when you ride them the first time you will be glad you did!

No problem at all with the ignition key or anything else. I think some of the pics I posted up in this thread show the ignition in proximity to the crossbars. Everything fits just fine. Including the brake line slack.

Ordered my FASST bars & they are on the way. The UPS oracle predicts a tomorrow delivery.
Had a great conversation with Cole (and Skyler) when I placed my order. Both phone and email conversations were absolutely fantastic.

What I wanted to mention here: They will have a $50 off their handle bars in November. If you talk to Cole though he will apply that discount if you ask for it. At least that's what he did for me.

They also made a Computer Mounting Bracket that goes on the handle bar for an additional $19.99. I don't think that made it to their website yet.

Here are the pics I got from them:

Oh and they will also come out with another Supertenere bar for the vertical challenged very soon (for people < 6'').

More pics will follow once everything is installed.

I am very interested in these bars! I hope to be able to get some in November. My original question was going to be if they would work with the Rox risers I curently have (the ones that move the bars up and back), but I suppose if they come out with another bar that is a bit taller I might not need the risers.

Re: New Tenere' handle bars - FASST Bar

Finally finished my FASST bar install today:

All standard equipment and all my farkles fit like a charm. I am 6'4'' and felt quite cramped on the stock bars. These bars open the shoulders up and relax my wrists. Standing up they are just simply comfortable.
Will report back once I have more miles under my belt.

Here is a pic of how different they are compared to teh stock bars:

And I can confirm that they fit without any adjustment with a straight up 1'' riser:

Well worth the $$ and FASST is one of the most knowledgeable and friendly companies I have ever ordered from.

I find interesting that people complain about the price of a reflash Ecu, but will spend 350 on a set of handle bars. I don't care what people spend money on period, it's theirs to spend, but my experience has been tune an engine right most vibes go away. Just a thought

I find it interesting that you read a 5 page thread about handlebars and all you get out of it is that people are trying to get rid of vibration :D :D :D

PSYDUCK thanks for the installation photos. At 5'7" I will be contacting Faast on the availability of the bars for vertically challenged. I have used Faast bars on my dirt bikes since they first became available. They are nearly indestructible, i have had numerous high speed get offs without bending the bars.

Actually a number of comments were made about vibration, my comments were direct at those, changing bars doesn't get rid of vibs. Sorry if it hurt you feelings, I guess you will need to focus on what you get out of it

These bars will not remove vibrations, they will soften shocks from rocks and potholes and such. BUT they can remove specific RPM resonance that some bikes suffer from as they are aluminium.
More engine vibrations goes through these, not a problem as the engine virtually not vibrates. Smeared out resonanse at lower strenght in combination with engine tune, thicker grips and rubber
risers can make miracles, i know as I'v tried "everything" for the resonance (and finally succeded).

Other stiff alu-bars have similar benefits tough.

Changing bars does not eliminate the vibration but it can reduce/eliminate the effect of vibration felt by the operator. It is usually better to eliminate vibrations at there source, unfortunately that is not always possible.

New Tenere' handle bars

Couldn't take it anymore. And $50.00 off was a bonus!

First, I think they are a gorgeous piece of engineering.
Second, I welcome getting rid of the sweep. I have a high tolerance for pain. And I have spent many a mile living with the pain that I believe is associated with "crowding me in". Hope this helps.

And did I mention they are really nice looking?
