I read heavy stuff all the time and found it, as expected, tedious but informative. So thanks for the link.arjayes said:It comes to the same conclusion that Mobil 1 is good stuff, but it also addresses the issue of oil additives in non-motorcycles oils affecting clutch operation on wet-clutch bikes.
Click on that link at your own risk. It may end up costing you several hours and a fair amount of frustration!!
Just bought some Mobil 1 4T. I'll see how the gear change test goes over the next 6000km. Had a good chat to the oil tester techo down there a few weeks ago as well about the difference between the oils. His basic response is that all of the Synthetics are so much better these days than dino oil, especially where a gearbox is sharing the same oil as the engine, so use Mobil 1 diesel, car or motorcycle oil and is will be way better, BUT the different Mobil 1 synthetic oils have different additives for different jobs but all of them are so much better than filtered Pennsylvanian crude oil that people used to use (I think that was a bit of a jab at a once popular brand that old timers refuse to let go of.)
